Also depends on days of the week. Out here the 3day weekend cruises are usually than the 4day midweek cruises.

Oh ok I guess that makes sense

Supply and demand, I have noticed that it is not just Galveston but all ports often the 4 day is more than a 5 day. I would try to arrange my schedule for the 5 day.

Ok thanks

Any cruise that includes weekends are slightly higher than short cruises that fall Between M-F, because more demand for short weekend cruises due to passengers needing less days off work to do them, as opposed to missing a whole week at work for midweek cruises.

Also depends on the time of year. Summer cruises are higher than those around the fall and winter

Consider "off-peak" times, when prices are lower. One example: There is a two to three week period between the end of Spring Break (usually around the end of April) and the beginning of the Summer vacation season (Memorial weekend) that is considered "off-peak". On most cruises, you'll see a drop in prices for that time period. To determine when other off-peak times occur, and lower prices are in effect, you'll need to go to Carnival's website, go to "Find A Cruise", then start "shopping".;)

I am trying to possibly plan a trip this fall for my boyfriend and I leaving Galveston and the prices are confusing me.

Out of Galveston, the 4 days leave on Saturdays & the 5 days typically leave on a Thursday. The powers that be knows more people will leave on a weekend vs a weekday; hence the higher price.
