Thanks for taking the time to write a blog. The forums were down last night. Wifi is really slow anyway.

Enjoy the suite life and continue the bon voyage!

We'll be on her again in August so I am very interested in everything you are writing about, but we'll be at the Marriott Hollywood Beach pre-cruise.

please excuse any typos and grammar errors....on the iPhone, I only see them after the fact.

Noise has not been an issue so far in the cabin.

The ship is looking clean to me. I never have an issue with the staff. If you are nice to them, they are nice in return!

Today is another perfect day at sea....back to the pool....

We are in an aft suite and enjoying our cruise, however we are unable to use our shower. It was replaced during the dry dock and is sparkling, however, they failed to make sure the door would close completely! Everyone up the chain of command is trying to figure it out. I am using the Jacuzzi while hubby used the shower briefly before the flood started.

Staff has been friendly and food so far has been great. Had dinner last night in the Coral Dining room and ate there for lunch today as well. No luck in the casino though, and pools are packed, not surprisingly. And no lobster on the menu for formal night which we didn't pack for anyway, so hoping for it later in the cruise.

AZBirdMom, which suite are you in? We'll be in E732 in a couple of weeks. Hoping that your shower issue is fixed quickly!

If you get a chance will you find out how long Alford and Seymore will be on the Caribbean? We sailed with them once before and would love to see them again. Two funny guys!! We are sailing a B2B in Aug.

Today started early with breakfast at Sabatini's. Lattes. fresh oj, my fav choco donut, and a bowl of berries & banana to start. Followed by eggs, French toast, potatoes & bacon. Mmmmmmm

After eating I went straight into the pool, and remained there till mid day, when I finally had enough of the heat. Ro still has a few hrs left in her. At 2:30pm, she was part of the largest spontaneous conga line at sea. Everyone is on vacation and having a good time! I went to the casino and gave some money back. That was followed by an iced coffee and some promenade deck reading. After that I watched The a Hunger Games 2. We had dinner at the buffet (Caribe tonight, Horizon last night). I had onion soup, pasta, pad Thai, potatoes, and breaded shrimp. We then went to see Seymour & Alfred in the theater. If I should see them around, I'll ask if they will still be performing on this ship.

Tomorrow we are in Grand Cayman, and the forecast is still looking good :)

Thank you for posting the "live" review. My Wife and I are particularly interested because we'll be on the Caribbean Princess on a B2B in our first window suite in less than a month! :D It will be also our first time without a balcony or mini suite but we couldn't say no to the suite amenities. Looking forward to reading more.

Thanks!

sorry to hear about the broken shower door. I am enjoying the jacuzzi, and the shower has great water pressure

I am not missing the balcony at all. All of our time is spent outside at the pool.

The weather today in the Caymans was amazing! We didn't get off and had the pool to ourselves for a long time. At noon, there were 17 people on our side of the Lido.....so peaceful!

2 carnival and 1 RCCL ships were anchored next to us

CG tonight....lobster and filet!!!!

We are in D737 and it still isn't fixed. After a very hot day ashore and in the ocean, we both used the shower. All of the towels are on the floor. I am going to go down to passenger services to ask the status but it's hard to get all worked up on a cruise.

Grand Cayman was wonderful. We went on the Cayman highlights and sting ray city tour. Loved it!

We wandered around Georgetown a bit afterwards and then waited 45 minutes in the blazing sun before we could get on a tender. No nice cool washcloths either :( Not sure what was going on as we were 1.5 hours before last tender and the Carnival Dream seemed to have lots of local boats awaiting their passengers. All better now that we are back in AC and showered (despite the flood).

Café Caribe is open for dinner - that is where we dined last night as we didn't bring clothes for formal night. Nice variety and everything was freshly made. We also were glad we weren't in the MD as there was the most stunning sunset.

Back to the MD tonight, after relaxing a little more in our suite that is otherwise wonderful (comfy beds, newer sheets and pillows for those who are interested).

This sounds like a wonderful day!:):):) I've been to Grand Cayman twice and had nice days. However, this might be one port where I decide to stay on the ship should I cruise there again. Very rare for me to stay on the ship as I will get off even if it is just for a meal.

The production shows are Born to be wild, and Caribbean Caliente. Tonight we saw Alfred and Seymour. These guys are a high energy duo of black entertainers. Their act involves comedy, music and dancing. We enjoyed them, but I don't think some of the older crowd appreciated their routine....as we were walking out, the older white woman in front of us said "that was just awful", lmao...not really a surprise their with their street clothes appearance, and classic rap/hip-hop tunes. They are performing again tomorrow and I will go see the show.

After we sailed away, I eventually made my way back to the room, and helped myself to the jacuzzi tub. I think this one is smaller than what we had in the penthouse suite on the Star, but I pretzels my large 6'3" frame into it and hit the jets.....ahhhhhhhhh, just what my sore back needed! We went to the buffet for dinner. I had: salad, tomato soup, spaghetti & meatballs, chicken cacciatore, broccoli, a vegi spring roll and a twice baked potato. The pasta and chicken was quite good. After the show, dessert was a sampling of some chocolate items from the IC. I then went to the casino to play some let it ride. I hit a 3 card straight flush, and played with those chips for a long time....no luck after that, and I walked away with a small profit. I then checked out the basketball game playing on MUTS, but it is a blowout so I didn't bother staying. Dwight Blake is playing in the Crooners. I am calling it a night. It was a very good first day....looking forward to Sabatini's tomorrow morning :). Bon soir!

* the wifi is the worst I have ever experienced, it is very slow and had a lot of connection failures.

* I tried to post this last night but either the wifi kept crashing or the forums were down.

* During the dry dock, the casino tables received new felt.

* I head read on the forums some concerns regarding the window suites, and the proximity to the smoking lounge and people waking in the halls. This is not an issue on this ship.....the suites are in a hidden hallway.

Sorry to hijack the thread but how is your shower issue going. We booked this room for our Oct short trip. I can't imagine this issue going on for months?

Do they still have the ice cream and pop corn on the pool deck near the MUTS pool?

Still not fixed! After wandering Cozumel today, we came back to a message from passenger services saying that they heard it was resolved but it's still staying open. They said they will send someone up and the steward has left us extra towels. By the way, no new carpeting yet and some of the chair cushions have seen better days so hopefully all will be refreshed by the time you get here!

We had our lobster last night...yum! I list a few bucks in the casino, then checked out the deck party and basketball game on MUTS....it was way to humid out there, I didn't stay long. The ice cream is near the MUTS pool.

Today was Cozumel....we didn't get off, and spent the entire day by the pool. We saw the comedian tonight...Ross Bennett...nothing special, a few laughs, but a quiet room otherwise. One more day to go :(

I have discovered the flaw with the window suites: since we left Cozumel, we have been listening to the horrendous noise of the stabilizers. The ocean is choppy, and they are going off every 10 seconds....a terrible scrapping noise with vibrations. The front desk was nice enough to give us ear plugs, but they only help a little. I assume tomorrow night will be the same. We'll see how the night goes, I hope I can sleep!

Which pier did the ship dock at in Cozumel?

Puerta Maya, the dock closest to 3 Amigos. We were next to a Carnival ship and on the next dock over, there were two RCL ships including the Oasis of the Seas.

I think it's the ship. We've had horrible vibrations aft as well, especially last night. We were in E720 over New Year's and also had bad vibrations there as well. We also had a lot of "whirring" from the tenders and other devices in the area.

It is "the ship" but the window suites on 6 are right over the stabilizers....

We both managed to sleep with the ear plugs, but woke up feeling tired and cloudy. It is another nice sea day, and we made our way to Sabatinis for our final breakfast :(, then to our spots by the pool. At noon I went to check ourselves in and print our boarding passes. Lunch was a slice of pizza. More pool time....ok, I have officially had enough sun! It is now 3:30pm, time for the bingo jackpot....wish me luck!!!!

Hope you were lucky at Bingo, lor74! We spent most of the afternoon on the balcony reading and enjoying the wake, that is, after we waited for the floor supervisor to come to replace the batteries in our safe! She also said she had just heard about our shower issues just today and apologized for the lack of responsiveness, the first apology we've had. She advised me to contact Customer Relations upon our return, and I will do that as I don't want to spend any more of my precious, relaxing vacation complaining.

I was enjoying our Jacuzzi at around 6 PM and the captain came over the loudspeakers announcing we will be back in Fort Lauderdale at 1 AM for "maintenance". Hope it doesn't impact the next cruise. There was also an announcement from the bridge around 9 PM calling for first aid in the engine room. Hopefully no one was seriously injured.
