Onboard Wifi - Streaming Video

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to decide whether an internet package will be worth it to us assuming the unlimited wifi package is offered on our upcoming cruise.

We usually get by with free wifi in port and our D+ internet discount. However, if we have a chance of successfully using streaming video with the new unlimited packages, the unlimited package may be worth it to us.

Has anyone had success with streaming video onboard?

You know what they say:

I don't know about video streaming services like Netflix and others, but I can say that I've been able to use Skype with video onboard Allure of the Seas and Independence of the Seas with no problem that I can recall. It was very nice to be able to have regular chats with Barry back home while Bryan and I were cruising.

If you plan to waste some of your cruise time watching movies (just my humble opinion), you would be much better off placing the movies on the hard drive of your laptop and watch from there. It's hard enough to get a large image to send on most ships.
