jandj1224 Posted June 3, 2014 #26 Share Posted June 3, 2014 We will be sailing on the Breeze next week. My husband is a die hard Ranger fan and is devastated he will be missing 2 of the games. I am hoping by some miracle Carnival is able to get NBC SN. If there is a chance they could win during the week, before we return, he might fly home early from port. LET'S GO RANGERS!! WE WANT THE CUP!

CoconutJD Posted June 3, 2014 #28 Share Posted June 3, 2014 I have an app on my iPad for NBC sports that allows me to watch the games but I seriously doubt that the internet service on the ship will have enough bandwidth to handle streaming live TV. My NHL Game Center app allows me to listen to the radio broadcast, so my plan is to do that for games that aren't available on the TV. I have a big speaker that attaches to the iPad and will welcome other Ranger fans to join in on a listening party. Again, only if the bandwidth allows clear connections. The problem with the ship's connection isn't necessarily bandwidth (although it's limited, and depends on how many people are using it), but latency. Latency doesn't affect streaming as much, as you're just pulling data, not sending multiple requests and waiting for responses.
momof4boys Posted June 3, 2014 #29 Share Posted June 3, 2014 In 2010, our group was on the Fantasy and we had several cabins for our large group. We had two side by side OS so we brought over lots of chairs from the other cabins....ordered room service (buckets of beer, sandwiches with & cookies) and went and got a couple of pizzas to watch the FINAL game. It was awesome!!! Hope your team wins and you have smooth seas!!

Earthworm Jim Posted June 3, 2014 #31 Share Posted June 3, 2014 All but 2 games will be on NBC. NBC has always dropped their summer programming for the nhl since they bought the rights (for some good money). Right, I think. Though the schedule I found on the NBC Sports site only lists the first 5 games. To be specific: NBC Upcoming Games Wednesday, June 4 8:00 PM ET – New York Rangers at Los Angeles Kings Saturday, June 7 7:00 PM ET – New York Rangers at Los Angeles Kings Friday, June 13 8:00 PM ET – New York Rangers at Los Angeles Kings NBCSN Upcoming Games Monday, June 9 8:00 PM ET – Los Angeles Kings at New York Rangers Wednesday, June 11 8:00 PM ET – Los Angeles Kings at New York Rangers So the games in LA are on NBC and the games in NY are on NBCSN? Don't know if that trend will continue for games 6 and 7 or not.

NBC announced that ganes 5,6 and 7 if needed will be on NBC.

oakleys Posted June 3, 2014 #37 Share Posted June 3, 2014 Every game should be on the NBC main channel at 8pm, CBC in Canada, but we get nbc too. I would never cruise in June for this very reason! LA will win:)
ml427 Posted June 4, 2014 #38 Share Posted June 4, 2014 Highly unlikely NBC pre-empts its prime time programing starting next Wednesday for the Cup finals, it's still hockey after all. Much more probable the finals are on one of the NBC sports networks. 5 of the 7 games are on regular NBC. Games 3 and 4 are on NBCSN. mayabean Posted June 4, 2014 #39 Share Posted June 4, 2014 Sadly I was on the Magic May 25-1st and couldn't even get a hockey score unless we checked the internet! Nobody knew or cared lol.....never got any coverage/score even on bottom ticker.....And being a Canadian girl we love our hockey....glad the Rangers won!! But never found out until off the ship and used wifi in cozumel.....
MiamiSpartan Posted June 5, 2014 #40 Share Posted June 5, 2014 We were on the Breeze a year ago when the Blackhawks won the cup, and they showed the games in the Casino bar....not the best location, but each night we had about 50 Bruin and 50 Hawk fans all decked out in our jerseys....it was a blast!! GO HAWKS!!!
mousey Posted June 5, 2014 #41 Share Posted June 5, 2014 I too love the Rangers...but...I live in CA so I was glad the Kings won tonight's game in overtime. ;) I won't really mind which team wins as they are both my favorites...but I am hoping the Kings take the cup! I want to see it up close again!:D
