Summit delay today

Anyone know why the Summit has still not left NJ?

Earlier today passengers reported delay in disembark due to Coast Guard inspections, that usually leads to subsequent delays in embarking and getting underway, maybe that's the problem

We were off Summit at 8:20 am today. No delay for us. They were scheduled to leave at 4 pm. Seems strange for them to still be there.

We were off the Summit on time today, and were in one of the last groups to get off, so I don't think that debarkation timing was a problem . I suspect it has something to do with either the Coast Guard inspection, or the few loud noises we heard on board yesterday evening and this morning (there were some rough seas coming home)...

After plowing through those winds and rough seas for over 24 hours, I think the ship needed a rest! and so did the crew, We were off the ship in the time frame given! They ended up having a beautiful sail away and a longer one at that! We had a great cruise and a bunch of wonderful passengers too... Staff was great

It sounds like there must have been some type of mechanical problem. Ships wait for no one. I doubt it was due to passengers getting on late.

According to the marinetraffic.com map on the portnywebcam site,

the Summit has just about caught up with the Breakaway as of 10:45pm.

Doesn't "Breakaway" conjure up falling apart? I like NCL but that name was a bad choice. Wouldn't Freebird or Carefree sound better.

According to the Port Of New York - Summit left at 6:22pm from Bayonne but doesn't say why it was over 2 hours late leaving

The other thread a poster here posted indicates the Cosat guard inspection scheduled for our sailing last week didn't happen so happened yesterday.

 

This explains why there were no delayed boarding last week.
