Players Club Members - Great Deal Going On

May I ask how much you people are betting/spending to receive these offers? I may have to call Carnival and vent a little.

I really think it's kind of random as far as the offers go. I did go on 2 cruises last year, but spent much less in the casino on those 2 cruises than I have on previous trips. I normally budget $50 - $75 a day for the casino. I know people who spend a lot more and haven't gotten the deals.

On the other hand, I have a niece who went on exactly 1 Carnival cruise over 5 years ago, and she got the same deal. Go figure.

All Players Club Members should check the deals being given right now:

First let me say that I had promised myself & my finances that I was NOT going to go on a cruise this year.....

So last night I get a call from my PVP (love the guy) and he left a message saying that I qualified for a free interior cabin. After getting the message, I go on-line & check my available deals.

Lo & Behold - there lurks a "Pack & Play" deal that there is NO WAY anyone could resist. Lots of cruises to choose from. So, my deal is this:

8 Day Southern Caribbean on the Breeze for August 30th. For me & my sister in a balcony, the charge was going to be $ 471.66 total for both of us - WHAT?!

Today before I made the booking, my daughter calls & she wants to go - okay - 3 in a balcony total $ 776.49 - still a great deal, but my PVP wasn't satisfied - "let me see what else I can do" How bout a Balcony & an Interior right across the hall (so my 27 year old daughter can stay out partying to the wee hours without disturbing us) - total bill for BOTH cabins $ 677.49. WHAT!!! PLUS a $100 OBC for each cabin - so basically it's $477.49 for 3 people in two cabins!!!

So - that's 8 days on the Breeze (which I can't wait to see) - to the beautiful southern Caribbean (3 of the 4 ports I've never been to) - me enjoying a balcony cabin & the peace and quiet of kicking the daughter to another cabin & the 3 of us will basically be paying less than $160 each!!

Gotta love Carnival & my great PVP

I'd really hate to see your daughter come back to her cabin in the middle of the night by herself. Tell her I'd be glad to join her so she don't have to party alone, :D

Since Carnival's "casino" offers have gotten so stingy (and I take 6-8 cruises a year and drop between $1000-$2000 each cruise in the casino) we'd switched over to NCL this year. I just happened to go on the Carnival website today to check offers and, lo and behold, there was the pack & play deal. We booked 8 days on the Breeze Aug 16th in a balcony cabin for a grand total of $471 and even get $100 OBC. Just too good to pass up so I've suspended my Carnival boycott long enough to take this cruise :D

I usually spend about 100 dollars a day on sea days and maybe 20-40 on port days, depending on when the casino opens back up. I am not a big spender at all, and these last two free cruises (both 8 days--last year on splendor and this year on the breeze) are valued at about $4000 total. A good trade off for me.

I am only taking $200 total for gambling on my july 5 breeze cruise, as I am pretty broke this summer due to buying and remodeling my first home.

Too funny!! She's very excited that she won't risk "bothering" me when she comes in at 3:00 a.m.- she's so very considerate.

I honestly enjoy my cruise time with her and don't normally mind the late entrances - actually some of my best memories are of waking up when she comes in and then us ordering room service and talking til the wee hours.

Something tells me she's getting a little too mature (right) for all the late nights, but she's very social so if there are like minds onboard, she'll be right there with them. Oh to be young again!!!

When I was her age I was working on Carnival's cruise ships (Carnival, Mardi Gras & Festivale) and I certainly had a FUN time - so I say go for it while your young.

I'm officially done with Carnival! Absolutely ridiculous how they treat their big spenders.

I have been on 26 cruises.. spent lots of time in the casino in May, always spend time at the blackjack table. The blackjack table on the Victory now has a little machine where the dealers swipe their cards when they start dealing. Also, when you sit down to play, they swipe your card and enter how much money you are starting with. So yes, they are now tracking the blackjack tables for rating. I didn't get a call or email, and see nothing in my special offers. So I called them, was told I have a 100 dollar casino cash coming. But no cabin discount or free cabin. "Maybe next time" is what I was told. I have to say, that when someone looks at my number of cruises they think I don't need a free cabin. Well, let me tell you... I am struggling... It was not easy to be able to cruise last month. But I need a vacation too. And I am tired of seeing people getting two free cruises.... good for them.. I am not holding it against them at all...but I have to say I don't see the randomness of this... and it is really beginning to frustrate me...

My friend spends $4-5 K on each cruise in the casino and cruised on Carnival at least 4 times in the past 12 months and didn't get the recent offer....needless to say she was quite mad. She called them and they were like so sad, too bad.... I detest the player's club since Bayonna took over

they are but they are casino offers.... I joined the players club my very first cruise (and every casino I visit) ... I still have free rooms in Vegas waiting lol

A lot of people don't gamble, but I do and budget for it so why not :)

I've gambled a lot my last two cruises. Indeed on both I spent almost as much in the Casino as I did for the cruise and they don't have any Casino offers for me. They have not even offered me a free drink. I tried to call the player club people but they don't answer their phone or return calls. I've decided to let my displeasure be known by doing my gambling elsewhere in future. At least in Vegas they give me drinks and dinners if not free rooms.

I'm sorry I didn't explain that well - the reason we were able to get 2 cabins is because my sister qualified for the same deal so 1 of the cabins was put in her name.

What I meant by getting 2 bookings, was that I didn't realize they would let me book two separate cruises using the same offer. I thought that if I "used up" my offer on the 8/30 sailing, that would finish the deal. I was surprised that I was allowed to book another balcony using this deal for the 8/24 sailing making it my first Back 2 Back.

Just talked to the People at the Diamond desk, this code OH6 with the free inside is only for 1 cabin per cruise connected to your VIFP number. Don't know how you got a 2nd cabin , all they told me is they will look into it and get back to me. The person that has the deal must be in the cabin.

It does seem those that have cruised less and spent less money get the offers. I say that because I have been on 4 cruises in 4 years and spent maybe $500 in the casino each time. My wife has been on 10 cruises in 11 years and spends no less than $1000 in the casino each time. When our PVP called and when I looked online the offer was for me and not her. She looked at me like I had something growing out of my forehead when I told her that. She's still happy because obviously we're going together but she can't figure out why she didn't have the offer as well.

See my post above - I didn't explain it well - my sister also qualified for the same deal under her VIFP #.

Sorry for the confusion - I was just grateful that my PVP took the time to look up the information on my sister & daughter to find that we could get the extra cabin. I was all set to book the one room for the 3 of us, and I appreciated his going the extra mile.

I think I confused everyone when I talked about being able to book a second cruise using the same discount.

Sorry - I'll try to be clearer next time.

I don't understand the reasoning on who gets deals and who doesn't. Maybe it has to do with slots and tables?

Think I am about to do a boycott over the price drops and try another cruise line.

I play slots the first and last night of the cruise and video poker through out the trip. Rarely do I play the tables. My cruise buddy says I get deals because most of the times I win and leave the ship with money. Says they are trying to get their money back. Knock on wood, maybe I will break even on this trip.

Been cruising with them since 05 and ignored the calls from my pvp about free cruises. Last year I actually called back and lo and behold it was totally free. We normally stay interior and that's what I chose on the free cruise. I didn't pay taxes, fees or anything. Went through the South Carolina port because it was the latest offer date cruise buddy could travel. We didn't have to pay parking because of our handicapped tag.

The last cruise I went on we booked a casino special and got the $75 cash back. Someone in our group booked 2 weeks out and got a window view for less than what we paid. Plus we used the same pvp. My travel buddy was ticked when pvp didn't let us get the better room.

I am booked on a premier cruise now, with my first exterior view since a port hole in 2005. As soon as I booked all the prices dropped. This time the rep told my friend that we can't make any changes without going through casino. Others in our group can get a balcony for what we paid. Guess that was price of booking when these packets came out.

So what does obstructed view mean for an ocean view? I was just happy to get a view. Cruise buddy was looking into a balcony.

Tip the casino manager.....It often makes all things casino related go well....

By the way... the dealers scan your card and key in your by-in amount. They do not adjust that value when you walk away, or give chips to your spouse... who then gets credit for his/her own buy-in.

Advice: Buy in big. Put the black chips in your pocket. Cash them in later, and use the cash to buy in big again. Every time you get up to use the restroom, cash in your big chips at the cage, and bring cash back to the table.

We bet the minimum on 3-card poker, and earned drink cards by the second day. Tipping the dealer doesn't hurt either... remember that the pit supervisor gets a share of the tips, and has some discretion to increase your point-earning potential.

It's not illegal or against policy. It is simply using their system to it's advantage. It is, after all, their system.

I'm right there with you ROK233. I don't think its random. I have family members who have only cruised once with Carnival and received 2 & 3 offers. Its a casino offers and they didn't spend much. Several of them are on fixed income. I have sailed with them since early 90's. I cruise with them at least once a year. Also if you call the Players Club they are very rude. My husband and I play the tables poker and black jack No offers no VIFP offers, nada. My PVP planner called stating Carnival has some great deals with no deposits. I expressed my disappointment with the cruise line and haven't heard from him since. I booked the Freedom back in Feb but after I became aware of the free cabins, I cancelled. Going on the Freedom of the Seas. I'm a diamond plus member and I feel their loyalty program is much better than Carnivals. I cant believe the CEO is going along with this promotion with all the backlash he has receive. I realize no matter what ppl will still sail with them, but I have jumped ship.
