Switching cabin guest

I have booked 3 rooms with 6 people. I noticed that all the rooms were were messed up after final payment.

I called ****co to switch and they said it would be a new booking at today's rates. I said I only need 1 person in every room switched they said it would still need to be done that way.

I called NCL they said it can be done but cost** would need to do it. I said they won't. She mentioned about doing it once onboard.

How would this work to switch everyone either once on board or when checking in on dock?

I hope this make sense.

This is often done on board, especially when you are making sure that there is an adult in each room. What happens is that you get your main room key/charge card, and you can simply ask for additional room keys that don't have any ID associated with them. Some people just have to carry 2 cards to take care of all of their needs. Nobody does a bed check to see who is where.

I don't want the extra cards I want a complete switch.

My mother and father are in a room (divorced)(balcony)

Step dad and wife in a room (balcony)

And myself and daughter in a room (inside)

I am getting a ubp with my daughter getting soda package (as no one else drinks)

I want my mother and step dad to be in same room with corresponding ids(balcony)

My wife and dad can be in room(inside)

And my daughter and I in one(balcony

Father will be sleeping solo in inside

My wife can carry extra key but I want my father and mother to have the correct keys since every room will have a different families credit card on file

Explain the situation to the agent when you are checking in and they can probably work it out. If not, a visit to Guest Services on board might do it. It's possible that you'll get the wrong luggage delivered but I hope you're all friendly enough to work that out if it happens!

It was blocked...cause you can not name agencies here... but you are either working with an BAD TA or you just got an idiot.

As said, it can be fixed at checkin.

BETTER YET - if you are able to CANCEL and book a new reservation at the same or better price, then do that. Screw em.

May be too late for you (don't care to open that discussion), but for anyone doing research, TAs and NCL all advise to double check all information to ensure it is correct after booking. Ages of guests, state of residency, and a bunch of other factors can play a role in your fare, so take the time after you book to confirm everything is correct.

Never assume anything.... if you've flown before, a wrong name on an airline reservation can render it invalid and require rebooking to correct.

I blocked the TA partially. Everyone says change in board will they do a complete change or just give me extra room keys?

When you check in, check in together (whole group). Explain who goes in which room, and to which credit card people are tied to. They can make it happen. Everyone will then have the only room key they need. Now, if they can't do this at check-in you'll all need to go to Guest Services and do the above. Its not a big deal, just make sure your wife gets a card to the balcony room.

The switch has to be made at passenger services after you board. The check-in at the dock will have the keys pre-printed to the reservation. As other have saidiit is more than easily done (except by the discount-club TA--you get what you pay for) but....

Do you think they will say anything as only 1 room will have a drink package?

...expect them to see right through your subterfuge in booking you and your daughter in the same cabin solely to avoid the other adults getting a drink package. If all three cabins are under the same booking number they will more than say something.

...

Forget that happening. It is all or nothing. Just pay per drink.

Based on all the stuff you are trying to do, why not just cancel the whole thing and start over with an agent that can do what you want them to do?

Because we are past final payment.

As far as seeing right through what I want... I confirmed with NCL and all over this forum. Every room has it's own reservation # and every room will have a desperate credit card for charges. So according to policy it is fine. I just need rooms assignment corrected

ALL of you will have to go to Guest Relations so they can do the switch. We tried with one from each cabin and had to come back. Although we had one person on the original reservation remain in both cabins. I honestly don't see why it should matter as NCL has already been paid for those cabins. Good luck!

Final payment - my bad, I missed that.

As to the credit card comment - a freudian slip?

No stupid spell check.... We will have a DIFFERENT credit card for each room.

So I am not doing anything sneaky!

The 2 dads are sober alcoholics my wife and mother don't really drink so that's why we booked that way ( to stay within the rules and let me drink.

The credit card used will move with the occupant, not the cabin. When you check in each person will give their credit card info. As far as the minor, she can be given privileges of the CC up to a certain amount each day if you think she might spend too much daily. They need to change the rule about the alcohol package. My DH drinks and I don't. Why should I be forced to buy the package?? But that's another thread....

Nobody is forced to buy the package. In fact, many folks have done the math and it does not make sense to buy it at all.

But - NCL offers the package if all the adults in a cabin want to buy it. They just do not offer it for one adult and not another. That is just what they offer. Folks can buy it or not buy it as it works for them.

Again, nobody is forced into buying it and may be better off not buying it at all.

Yes, I would be FORCED into buying it if my DH wanted it. It should be available to ONE person. Yeah, I'm sure that there are plenty of people who try to "share" and get away with it, and for that reason they have this policy. If my DH got it and paid $400 (I don't know the price), there's money in their pocket, but if he didn't have the package and only drank $300 worth, then NCL would be out $100. They lose......

Yes they do force everyone to buy. That why I got to put people in certain room however they put people in the wrong rooms.

The only thing with the package that is good is that each room with a different cc is an individual booking so rule doesn't apply to full party just rooms

No offense , but I'm pretty sure that NCL's smart number crunchers and marketing folks have ran the numbers and are happy with how they have their policy despite how us folks feel about it.

It works great for some guests, not worth it for others.

Remember, just like casinos, the house always wins in the end. :D
