Giantfan13 Posted June 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) Can I ask where you would suggest the best places 2 visit in St Petersburgs? I would say it is very subjective, as to YOUR likes and dislikes. Do you enjoy art and tapestries. If so the Hermitage is a do not miss place. Do you enjoy churches and architecture, there are several do not miss churches in St Petersburg. Do you like huge palaces, the Catherine's Palace and Peterhoff are those do not miss places. What about history, the Yusupov's Palace is where Rasputin was murdered, might be high on your list. If you are looking to see it all, then sign up with one of the private tour companies and they will show your their wonderful city, everything included. Myself, I loved Peterhoff and the Hermitage. Peterhoff, with all the fountain is full array http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europemaster734.jpg From the first level looking out towards the Sea of Finland http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe721.jpg One of the other buildings that make up Peterhoff http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe718.jpg In the Hermitage One of the many dazzling rooms http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe927.jpg Rembrandt self Portrait http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europe960.jpg Another of the magnificent rooms http://i834.photobucket.com/albums/zz267/Giantfan13/baltics/europemaster955.jpg Cheers Len Edited June 25, 2014 by Giantfan13

pppatpc2 Posted June 26, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 26, 2014 I agree, the Hermitage and Peterof are not to be missed (bucket list worthy), but St. Isaac's Cathedral was high on my list. The exterior was not as impressive as the Church of the Spilt Blood, but the interior was unbelievable.
