Belle Posted June 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Where did the time go..so fast Summer is here..how long will it last Before you know it..winter will be here Can you believe 2015 is so near What I'm trying to say I/We can't waste the days Need this weight off now..don't you see Even if we have to drink water by the ton and pee Night and day..eat right..exercise..drink water and wee We don't like it but have to..so clothes will fit us to a tee So the scale must be part of our life Even if we want to break it with a knife So get up and walk a mile or two this week So what if your knees feel weak Kisses and hugs to you all For your sore muscles and your falls Eat less food and make it right Then each day you will wake up and feel lite You might feel hungry in the evening sometimes Then you can do "housework" and make the house shine (yeah right) Drink water and your skin will glow Then the man or woman in your life will say very slow Your getting Thinner .. I Love You
Jan_In_Maine Posted June 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Thanks for the poem Belle! Hope everything is going ok for you. I am down 0.8# this morning ... slow going but in the right direction. Good luck to all. Jan
nyer Posted June 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Thanks for the poem, Belle. Congrats on your loss, Jan. Slow going is good, its not a gain. I stayed the same. :( I did not eat any differently, but I have noticed that the loss has slowed a lot lately. I am 3.5 lbs away from my final goal weight. Three weeks until I cruise. Wish me luck! retiring soon Posted June 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2014 HI all! Belle ~ some good points in your poem! Some of us were amazed that June is almost over, time is just flying by!! Rose ~ wtg being so close to your goal & your cruise! I'm down 0.6 lbs which is better than being up it. I now am where I was 3 years ago when I started doing MFP. Got to lose those same 15 lbs I put on after retiring, again!:o Have a great weekend. ~ Jo ~ :)
Musicsmylife Posted June 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Hooray for losses!! I'm still stuck 235 day until cruise. My last 15-16 lbs won't budge. Sent from my iPad
winewanderer Posted June 26, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Hello Everyone, Congrats losers. Jan, Rose, Jo you are doing so well at getting back down. Yeah! I did better this week. I lost 1.5 of the 2 lbs. I gained last week. My last day of work is tomorrow. I got a severance package, more than I thought. Will file for unemployment next week. Had a nice day today, a friend of mine came to work and we had lunch out. Very nice. Let's all stay well and stay positive. Diana
shootr Posted June 26, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 26, 2014 I officially hate road trips. Ate great all day, then blow it huge at dinner. Up 4lbs to 206 again...jeez my willpower sucks.
Dancin85 Posted June 27, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I am up .2 pounds this week but I expected it. I ate out 3 times this last week...3 very good meals, and had lots of good sweet tea with each of those meals. This is a new week, so instead of beating myself up, I will try to do better. Good going and good luck all. Have a GREAT weekend!
retiring soon Posted June 27, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 27, 2014 HI all! shootr ~ I think willpower is something we all struggle with but we know we can do it as we've lost those pounds before!;) Diana ~ glad to hear about your severance. Good luck with job hunting. Staying positive is what we need in all circumstances. I just borrowed a book from the library by Rocco Dispirito "The Pound a Day Diet" which sounds appealing. He's a chef so the food should be good. A friend of mine asked me to look up the Shred Diet. So many diets eh? Calories in vs calories used is the common theme but so hard to stick to!:o Have a nice weekend. ~ Jo ~ :)
shootr Posted June 29, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 29, 2014 ALRIGHT, THAT'S IT - THAT IS IT!!! I'm not eating crap from this morning on. 5AM grocery run got me lots of V8, veggies, and 2lbs of shrimp for a massive bowl of Mexican style Shrimp Cocktail. Plenty of chicken in the freezer, 5lb bag of spuds, and lots of salad making stuff. (This will last me 3 days, easy!) On Monday the Mrs. heads to a family reunion, the kids are with their mother - and I won't have anything but work and health to focus on for 10 solid days, establish the routine, and go from there. Looking down and seeing that pudge coming back is ticking me off to no end. I've been way worse, but I liked 190 way better than 210 so it's time to stop screwing around and get after it. But we're still having fun - and that's the key for me - distractions! Went to a new driving range yesterday that is set up like electronic darts - me and my son had a ball! Hang tough everyone, and congrats to the losers that are towing the line! And congrats to the rest of us that still show up and take responsibility and at least try to make ourselves healthier. WE WILL WIN!
