Clarea Posted September 4, 2014 #26 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Here's a great picture I didn't include in my Navigator review... this picture was taken by my GF from inside our forward facing OV this past May. I count 7 steps from deck 5 up onto the helipad... I really hope you have the ability to get up there! Note all the bench seating I mentioned. Also notice me standing there on the second bench from the right :p ... another rare personal photo to add to my collection :D I can't tell, but I'm wondering if the structure to the right of the stairs is some sort of lift? ryano Posted September 4, 2014 #27 Share Posted September 4, 2014 If your are permanently wheelchair bound, I am sorry to say that I don't believe you can get onto the helipad area unless a couple of staff are willing to pick you up and carry you up and then down the stairs (I'm guessing not... liability/insurance issues). Im permanently wheelchair bound and if I can get to those 7 steps in the pic above, I will get friends to carry me up in my wheelchair. We do it all the time at other places so its no big deal. I just hope I can get to those 7 steps without much of an issue. Im gonna try and make it a point to get ON the helipad next April :)

There might be a slight ledge as you go out the double set of doors on the starboard side of the forward lounge on deck 5. joepeka Posted September 4, 2014 #29 Share Posted September 4, 2014 I can't tell, but I'm wondering if the structure to the right of the stairs is some sort of lift? I took a video of our visit to the helipad on Indy last year and watched it just now but did not see anything resembling a lift near either set of stairs. :( I'm assuming that Freedom is identical.
