Cruisin 4 Ever Posted July 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2014 I am considering booking a cruise on this ship but there are alot of negative comments about it in the reviews. One poster said they are in teh current process of renovating all the rooms prior to dry dock. Does anyone know if this is true?
#1TravelMom Posted July 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2014 I can't speak specially about the Victory, but we just returned from the Sunshine. It has lots of negative reviews. I can tell you, we had a GREAT time and would book this ship again in a minute. We have been on the Victory in the past. There may be signs of wear, but the ship is great overall. Grayton Beach Girl Posted July 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2014 I love the Victory! I will never forget the wow factor when you enter the ship! I have not experienced anything quite like it on another cruise. The atrium is awesome! The ship is a bit smaller than the Conquest class, but it still has most of the bells and whistles. If the Victory returns to a port near me, I will definitely sail on her again.

I was on the sunshine when it was the destiny just a couple of weeks before the major overhaul. Our room was beautiful and fully redone. The only problem was the thrusters weren't working properly for the last several cruises and we didn't make it to any of our scheduled ports:(

StaceySteveDMB Posted July 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 11, 2014 We sailed on the Victory in March and I loved it! It does not have any 2.0 upgrades but it was still a fantastic ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

mscreneet Posted July 13, 2014 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I just sailed on the Victory about a week ago and I must admit I was a little disappointed. Dont get me wrong, my family and I still had a ball but we were a little underwhelmed with the cabins. We booked 2 cabins. A balcony for the hubby and I and a Interior across the hall for the kids. The furniture in our room was extremely worn. Most of it had dings all over and pieces chipped or just missing. The balcony curtain had small holes all over it so whenever it would get dark you would get the effect of a light show in the room due to some light coming in through the holes in the curtain. The AC in our cabin didnt work the 1st 2 nights, they eventually fixed it on the 3rd day. We just slept on the balcony the 1st two days to have a nice cool nights sleep. The soap / shampoo dispenser attached to the bathroom wall was hanging slightly and missing the push button knob on the shampoo side. The activities were great and we enjoyed ourselves anyway......it was just the cabin that was a little disappointing. Hopefully they will upgrade the rooms soon as we would definitely like to give it anther try.

caligirl323 Posted July 13, 2014 #20 Share Posted July 13, 2014 we just got off the victory yesterday. we had a wonderful time. it was our 5th carnival cruise. we had an interior room on veranda deck. the a/c worked great in our room. our room steward was terrific. only had lines on lido (at main meal times) and during the tender process at half moon cay. we ate in the MDR all five nights. our wait staff wasn't the best but it didn't mess with our cruise. you'll have a great time on the victory.
