tidemp5 Posted July 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2014 We are going to be a group of friends from late 30s to early 40s, traveling on the four day trip to Cozemel from Ft. Lauderdale. Our concerns are that fellow passengers will be much older and mainly a couples cruise. We dont want the Carnival atmosphere, but would like some form of nightlife and a social side of the cruise. Can anyone help with their experiences.
Rare geoherb Posted July 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2014 We did that cruise last December. It was a good mix of passengers--all ages. You won't find the average age of 70 until you get to the longer itineraries (14 nights or longer) or for things such as New England/Canada cruises. Princess usually has a good mix of passengers. Longer or "exotic" cruises, or while most kids are in school, tend to be older. That happens even on Carnival. Lovetocruiseprincess Posted July 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2014 Comparing the age group on Carnival to that on Princess is completely different. Maybe the ages on Princess aren't as old as HAL but you'll find the nightlife much more subdued on Princess if you're looking for a wild time. If your friends are in the 30-40 age group they will be among the youngest in the crowd.
Times Prince Posted July 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2014 Princess does offer a variety of activities in the evening - dancing, entertainment, movies under the stars, comedy shows, interactive game shows, and a variety of bars. For a 4 day trip to Cozumel, travelling with friends, you should have no problem enjoying yourself.
skynight Posted July 18, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) I see three 4 night sailings that match your description, Oct 23 on the Island Princess, and Nov. 6 and Dec 30 on the Caribbean Princess. If you are on the New Year's Eve sailing it will be full with party goers. On the other two sailings you can expect evening/night entertainment to be: Shows in the Princess Theater Piano/Singer in Crooner's Bar starting at 9pm Movies Under the Stars on the Lido Deck In Explorer's Lounge, and Club Fusion*, live dancing, theme shows, game shows, karaoke Wheelhouse Bar, live ballroom dancing Skywalker's Night Club*, DJ opens around 10pm *These venues on Caribbean Princess only Princess has the no limit alcohol/non alcohol beverage package, for all beverages under $10, which is most drinks, for just over $56pp a day ($225 for the cruise). Have fun. Edited July 18, 2014 by sknight

We did the Ruby Princess 4 day cruise earlier this year & there was a nice age range during that cruise that you would fit into. Of course, every cruise is different, so yours may differ from what we had.
