When do you find out the time you will be picked up from your hotel if you have booked HAL transfers from the airport to Hotel and then Hotel to Ship the following day..

Just wondering if we will have plenty of time to see the city on our sail day as we don't leave till late..

You should call HAL, or your agent if you booked through one, for specifics. It is likely that pick-up at your hotel would be noon or earlier as boarding is likely to start at 11:00 AM or soon thereafter, as most passengers prefer to board as early as possible.

Whenever I've used an HAL hotel/transfer package there is an HAL desk and representative in the hotel lobby who will provide you with all the details. Typically you'll leave the hotel in the late morning.

I often book the HAL transfer, even when I book the hotel independently.

There should be a HAL rep at a hospitality desk. Stop there. You will get an envelope with instructions uncluded, or the HAL rep will give you papers listing out everything you need to know.

Departure from the hotel is usually later morning, with arrival at the pier timed so that you are getting there a little after check-in has started, and the initial crush of passengers has been cleared through.

Frequently, there is a little tour on the way to the pier (but not always).

Hoping for early boarding then as its the sacrifice festival in Turkey so none of the major sites will open till the afternoon anyway - should give us time to settle in and grab some lunch. Do we then just use our passes to come and go or will we have to re check in?

Check in will start around 11 AM and boarding usually starts around 11:30. Since we can't predict exactly what time your transfer will take you to the ship -- can't tell you exactly when you will check in and actually get on the ship to be able to drop off your carry-ons in your cabin and have lunch.

Once you are ready to come back to the ship -- have your ship's ID card and your passport as you will still have to go through security and any packages you have will have to be screened. After that you can just proceed to get back on the ship. You don't have to worry about going to the check-in lines.
