Any perks For Booking B2B Cruises?

No, the only perk is that you get to sail longer and if you have booked the same room you do not have to pack up. Just leave your stuff and either get off and enjoy the port or stay onboard and enjoy a nearly empty ship!

There is the free stuff you receive on the second cruise. We really enjoyed having the ship to ourselves on the second because we were on before regular boarding started. We also received priority boarding and were seated in the VIP lounge before the first cruise.

The down side is two deposits and two muster drills instead of one.

Champagne from the Hotel Director on the 2nd cruise if you stay on the same ship. Nadda if you go on 2 different ships BtoB, off 1 and on the next. We get our normal Diamond perks, tea with the Capt, and the few Platinum perks. The casino has been giving us free drinks the first night for the week on our last 4 cruises this year. We don't really drink to much maybe 1 a day so that's no big deal. That's it.

You can also stop by the shops on the last night of your 1st leg and buy a bottle or 2 of alcohol and take it back to your room for the 2nd leg.

Has anyone tried this? I booked my first B2B with same cabin number. Also, if you buy alcohol on first round in a port, will they still deliver it to your room if you are continuing on sailing a second round?

As noted, you can buy duty free liquor the last evening and take it back to your cabin. When you continue on your second leg, it is yours to drink. I presume if you had purchased it earlier in the week, it would be delivered that evening too. I do not know about port purchased liquor, but I highly doubt they would bother to cross reference it to see if you were a B2B cruiser. Also, it would be very hard to keep track of the bottles owner if they had to change cabins.i think they would return it to you. IMHO .

There are no financial benefits.

On the second leg, the hotel director will usually send a fruit basket and/or a bottle of champagne/wine.

The Dream has started doing a little 'reception,' so to speak. When reboarding, they have bar staff waiting with champagne and Mimosas. They have a vertical banner welcoming you, and two staff holding another sign. You then have your picture taken behind the banner with an assortment of staff/crew, and it is sent to your room as a gift. It was quite nice, actually, and the only ship I have seen do this.

The trip through customs varies by ship. My favorite was on the Conquest - we met, and they took us through - moving us to the head of every line, and then bringing us back. More often, however, what I see is they wait until the ship is zeroed out and THEN take us off/back on. When doing the latter, we have a bit less time to enjoy and have the ship to ourselves.

Can never go wrong with a B2B, however!

On our last B2B, our room steward told us we could hide out in our room during the muster drill time (on the second leg).

Many staff members recognized us as we started the second week.

Dining room hostess always had a great window table for two waiting for us each night.

I would LOVE to do a B2B but they won't let me take that much time off work at one time. :( Maybe one of these days

That used to be me. Now for the first time ever I have two weeks off in a row. So in November. I am taking the train from the bay area to la. Then to San Antonio and Chicago. Over to D.C. and Down to Miami on friday the 14th to get on the Glory on the 15th. Heaven for me as I have always enjoyed trains and have never been on either the texas eagle or capital limited. Also I have now found a love for cruises. My 4th this year. I also have never been to any of the ports on this trip. Can't wait.

I've never had any of this! This is my third B2B, starting tomorrow, and I've never had a bottle of champagne (I don't drink but I could look at it, lol) or anything. Maybe that's because I always change cabins. We shall see!!

The train trip sounds wonderful. Will you spend time in each city?

Not always, we didn't get anything and it was John Heald as cruise director. :) AND we were 3 weeks on the ship. :)

Didn't he say that there wasn't anybody on the ship for three cruises... when Beerleader asked him if anybody had been on for three cruises?

What? "Say" to who? Sorry, I was most certainly on the Miracle for 3 weeks in May, consecutive starting May 13, 2014. "He" I'm assuming is John Heald? I'm sure he can easily verify this if needed?

Carnival Beerleader mentioned that he asked if anyone was onboard for three weeks and John Heald told him that there wasn't. The thread was removed though. I think it may have been about the graduation daughter situation.

Edit: I believe you posted while you were on the second part of your cruise. It was in that thread.

On our B2B last October on the Freedom, we received a bottle of bubbly and a fruit basket from the hotel director as a welcome gift on the second leg.

We did purchase a couple of bottles of duty free liquor in the shops the last evening of our first leg, and carried them directly to our room.

We were able to do a load of laundry once we got back on board during turn around day.

We kept the same room and our room steward allowed us to remain in our room during the second muster drill process.

We were able to secure one of the highly coveted "clamshells" in the Serenity area for the entire day, snoozing, snacking, zipping off to change the load of laundry, reading... it was glorious!

Though we don't have a Serenity deck on our next cruise, we hope everything else will go as smoothly as our last one. :)
