What's the price of cheers?

Carnival's website has it under FAQs (and hundreds of posts on here has it also)

Using the CHEERS! beverage package, guests can enjoy a wide variety of wine, beer and spirits (including cocktails and frozen drinks), along with sodas and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails throughout the voyage at one convenient flat rate plus tax and a 15% gratuity added at the time the package is purchased.

3 day $55 per person/per day

4 day $45 per person/per day

5 and 6 day $42.50 per person/per day

7 days and longer $37.50 per person/per day

Prices are subject to change and price adjustments (up or down) implemented on the day of sailing will replace any previously advertised price.

It's a 7 day cruise, I thought I read somewhere that price had been reduced. Does anyone know?

If it's seven nights (say a Sunday to Sunday), it is $37.50 per day, plus 15% gratuity, so $301 and change. You save over $100 from the old program

Not necessarily. It may end up being $399 per person, plus 15% gratuity. We don't know when the OP is sailing and prices are subject to change on the date of embarkation. As $399 was the top of their seasonality range before the "updated" verbiage, it is reasonable to assume the price has the possibility of being in that ballpark.

It also reads plus tax now. So if you buy it before you are in International waters do you have to pay tax where if you wait you do not pay tax??? Lots of questions with the new wording. I would really like to know ahead of time and have no surprises.

No. You're only charged tax on the individual drinks you order while you are in port/US waters.

The tax on individual drinks consumed under the program while in US ports. Just as previously stated.

And the 'plus tax' wording has always been a part of the Cheers FAQs.

Sorry to be so confused so let me see if I understand. You board and buy the Cheers package. Any drink you have prior to sailing they will charge tax on it even though it is part of the Cheers "package" that you have already paid for. So on your onboard account you will have small tax charges? Is this correct?
