Pomai Posted August 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2014 Hi, I am ready to book shore excursions for my upcoming cruise. And on the Celebrity Solstice in Sydney, Day 2, December 22, the HOP ON HOP OFF BUS is not a choice anymore. It used to be a choice, but I do not see it. Has it been discontinued? Can anyone help? Thanks.
The_Big_M Posted August 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2014 I don't know what the Celebrity shore excursion was, but there is still a private bus operator offering that service in Sydney. So you can do it yourself if you'd like to.
woodyren Posted August 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) Most of the sites in Sydney visited by the hop on hop off bus can be easily walked to or visited with public transport. A MyMulti day pass is available for $23 and will take you anywhere in the Sydney area by train, bus, ferry and light rail. http://www.sydneytrains.info/tickets/which/mymulti_day We live in Sydney and are on the same Solstice cruise. Would be more than happy to point you in the right direction. Myself and a number of other locals (and some great ex locals) have posted many suggestions on the roll call. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1889070 Have a pop in if you haven't already visited. The others on there seem like a great bunch. Cheers. John & Danni. Edited August 25, 2014 by woodyren

woodyren Posted August 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) Are all ferries covered by the pass, including the one to Manly? The traditional Manly ferry is. There are also weekly Mymulti but you need the highest level to get the ferry to Manly (Mymulti3) $63 for 7 days. http://www.sydneytrains.info/tickets/which/mymulti Edited August 25, 2014 by woodyren
MrsWaldo Posted August 25, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2014 All the public ferries are. The sydney fast ferry isn't as it is privately operated. As an option to buying my multi (which may be phased out by then as round 2 of paper ticket removal occurs Dec 1) grab an opal… even with a $20 total cost and $15 per day cap you are still in front by $3 (at the moment light rail is not included by by Dec is supposed to be on line) If you are there on Dec 21 it is $2.50 all day as Opal replaces the old sunday funday but with no need to have kids. The news agency under Circular Quay station sells opal cards. It is on the street side

sayaguru Posted August 29, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2014 There's also the free shuttle bus that runs from Central to Circular Quay (goes every 10 minutes).. Google- free sydney bus.
