Having had both types of Captain, the talking chatting ones and the stay in the background ones.

They are equally good as captains. However the chatty ones like Capt. Turnbull to me are the better ones. We used to look forward to him giving the 9.00am and midday reports.

As I said elsewhere on our last cruise I cannot even tell you the captains name as we heard not a peep from him.

Here is Neil last week on Azura. A great bloke with a great sense of humour. The deputy Captain caught man flu early on the cruise and he took the mock out of him on almost all of his announcements.

I think I speak for everyone when we wish Captain Turnbull best wishes for a speedy recovery. I am closing this thread now .
