Emdee Posted August 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Heard they were wonderful!!! Now I'm trying to decide which itinerary to choose. Any ideas??? My recommendation is the 10 night which gives you a nice mix of atolls and islands. Also allows you to do a three day pre cruise in Moorea very easily. gusjakefred Posted August 31, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Thank you Emdee. I want to do an extensive New Zealand tour first, then fly to Papeete and hook up to the cruise. I'll have my agent figure this all out. Heard it was absolutely fabulous! gusjakefred
Emdee Posted August 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2014 It's a beautiful area. Unspoilt and not overpopulated. Let me know any questions as you plan this exciting trip. Keep in mind that many agents are less familiar with the trip than some of us are..

Princess Jessie Posted September 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Hi... Our first time to South Pacific... Always been our dream and because we are flying from the UK we want to make a real trip and combine with seeing Australia. So, firstly... we are thinking of either doing 7 day Tahiti and Society Island Cruise or Society Island and Tuamotos Cruise 10 day.. Our issue is it's to celebrate a special birthday so we want to travel in July... at a push we could maybe do end June or early August. We know that in Sydney for example it will be "winter" and that is fine... we are more concerned with the weather in French Polynesia... Bearing in mind it is an expensive cruise and our first time we would be gutted if it was raining the whole time! And cold!! I fully understand that weather worldwide cannot be guaranteed but would be grateful of a rough guide to what the weather should be! Also which is a better cruise the one with Tahiti or with Tuamotos? Any comments greatly appreciated...
FlightMedic555 Posted September 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2014 The major difference between the 7 and 10 night cruise is the addition of the two stops in the Tuamotus and the addition of the sea day. The Tuamotus are renowned for their snorkeling and diving. If this appeals to you it is spectacular. We have done the 10 day cruise and have another on scheduled in June. What may make the determination for you is your travel time. The 10 day cruise is not offered that frequently.
Floridiana Posted September 15, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 15, 2014 June, July, August weather has always been great for us in French Polynesia. It's not as humid as January and the ocean was smooth.
MotuIslander Posted September 15, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2014 The bottom line is that if you don't like the weather, just wait an hour...it will probably be different. We have been six times in June or July and twice at New Years. It is only a couple of degrees hotter in summer (January) that in Winter (June), but it may be a tiny bit more humid, but only in the interior of the islands. When you are at sea, there is little apparent difference.
