UndcvrNana Posted September 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2014 My travel agent said she would give me a coupon book as a bonus... anyone else ever receive anything like that? What kind of things would it contain?

MICHLEV1974 Posted September 19, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2014 Book with this travel agent for other reasons, NOT just for this "coupon book". what? i was thinking the OP is asking what would be in a coupon book? i was not thinking she was asking if she should book with that TA just to get a coupon book. i have gotten a coupon book each time from my TA and i had spa discount and gift shop discount and a free casino spin on the wheel... it's a fun little perk but not a deal breaker if you don't get one. EmmasNana Posted September 19, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) My first Royal cruise was last month and my TA sent me the coupon book. When I tried to use the buy one drink, get one half off in Rita's Cantina I was told they know longer used paper coupons. I told her the coupon clearly says expiration date was through Dec. 2014. She showed it to another employee and after much discussion they honored it. It was a little embarrassing and I decided none of the other coupons were worth the trouble. I don't really remember what else was on it. Small discounts on things I wasn't interested in. Edited September 19, 2014 by EmmasNana
CRUISEBOY305 Posted September 19, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2014 I know someone who got one of these coupon books and when she tried redeeming something, they gave her a hard time because they thought it was the crown & anchor coupons that are no longer in use. YadaYadaJodi Posted September 19, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2014 I received a coupon book from my TA (among other things) and it looks like the discounts are similar if not exactly the same as for C&A gold members. I'm sure that's where the confusion lies with the onboard crew. I will be sure to let them know I'm using a TA coupon (not the C&A discounts loaded on to my SeaPass) when I use them. Not a lot of great deals - B1G1F beer or wine, free casino spin, etc. I'm at work so don't have the book with me to post more. Like I said - similar to what I've seen posted on CC for the gold C&A members.
