NCL Drink Package

If you are drinking beer and are ok buying buckets then two buckets (12 beers) is about the point where the UBP becomes worth it.

If you buy them individually then it's about 10 beers.

There is the corks and caps package which is a bit cheaper and will reduce those numbers slightly.

Whether or not it's worth it is completely subjective. It all depends how much you plan to drink. For me, it's absolutely worth it. I usually have 2 bloody marys in the AM on the pool deck. Than have 4-5 beers, 2 glasses of wine with dinner, and at least 4-5 mixed drinks in the casino. So I guess I'm around 13-15 drinks per day. I don't do this everyday while not on vacation, so I like to enjoy myself while onboard. I never get falling down drunk either.. If you think you will be drinking anything like what I explained above, GET THE PACKAGE! :D:D

We just returned on the GEM and purchased the UPB. It was a good value for us. One thing that was handy was that if your beer got warm or drink watered down, or you tried something you didnt like, you could easily get a fresh one. It also included virgin icee drinks.

I am cruising in March with my elderly mom for the first time on NCl. She won the cruise. She can't drink due to medical reasons. Will they still allow me to but the package as the other cruiser in that cabin? Wondering if there is a medical exemption. Thanks.

Many have tried to get an exemption... few have claimed to receive it. It will benefit you to exempt both of you.. your drinks, I suspect will not pass $110/day but hey... it's you call. $54-59 /day per person = 756 + 15% tip. Sure wouldn't pan out for us but do your own math.

Cheers.

Worth every penny to me. As others have described, if you begin your day with a bloody mary or two, a fruity beverage or two in the afternoon, a martini before dinner, glass of wine with dinner, and then drinks later in the evening at the club, you've more than gotten your money's worth. I do it more for peace of mind than worrying about getting my money's worth though. It's easy for cocktails to add up.
