Do I need a jacket on the Mississippi Sunday?

We leave on the Dream on Sunday. I'm wondering if I'm going to regret it if I board the ship in shorts and no jacket. I'm thinking the time on the river may be windy and cool since the high temp for NOLA is 66.

Anyone been out there recently?

I can't speak to the current conditions, but you will find the river much windier than you imagined. It definitely will feel cooler than the temperature would suggest. Once the ship gets moving and if you are in an exposed area, it will be even worse.

If you are the type to be cool, you'll probably want a jacket.

I live in a northern climate and I wouldn't need it, but would have a light jacket with me anyhow because the ship can get cold with the AC.

Canadians are hardy people, we will wear shorts and a tank top and say it is a beautiful night when it is 66F, heck, I'll wear shorts and a tank top to work when it is 15C...

Watching the shore line going down the river is fantastic, but I would also suggest a pair of jeans too. It is windy on the river, the ships are so much taller than what grows along the shore, so the wind just whips around the ship. Have a great cruise!

Definitely a jacket and probably jeans. And remember…it's probably going to be dark-thirty or pretty close when y'all depart...

It may take a sea day before the temperature gets warm...
