Taters Posted November 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2014 Does the $35 fee for the steakhouse go directly to the staff for gratuities, or am I expected to tip after the meal? Thank you, Taters
champagne123 Posted November 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 2, 2014 It is included...unless you want to leave more for exceptional service.
marshhawk Posted November 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2014 If the service is good, we round it up to what a tip would be for a "real" restaurant, based on a 35 $ meal. If you eat at Ruth Cris this meal costs about 120.00 for two, not including wine.
Tampa8 Posted November 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2014 And in my opinion the meal I had in the Steakhouse on the DREAM was at least as good, overall better than Ruth Chris.
WindsorFred Posted November 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2014 We always do the same.

You make a reservation as you would at a restaurant. We have our reservation for 7pm on the Miracle.

JillySue Posted November 3, 2014 #11 Share Posted November 3, 2014 We had a 6:30 reservation on the Miracle. It was wonderful. We tipped a bit more extra as well, because they put us at a great table and the service was so great we thought we were the only ones in the restaurant! SNJCruisers Posted November 3, 2014 #12 Share Posted November 3, 2014 If I am not mistaken, depending upon the age of your children, they are only allowed to dine before 7:00 PM in the Steakhouse. I had overheard this years ago while waiting to be seated and the young woman was talking to someone on the phone who was trying to make a reservation for later during the cruise. champagne123 Posted November 3, 2014 #13 Share Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) From the Carnival Website. With an elegant, but fun-filled, relaxed and somewhat casual atmosphere and a menu that includes steakhouse favorites, the Steakhouse is guaranteed to be a favorite dining spot. For a nominal fee of $35 USD per person, guests can take in the atmosphere and enjoy the amazing culinary creations of our chefs. The fee includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert and the wait staffs’ gratuity; additional gratuities are optional and may be extended in cash or to the guest's Sail & Sign Account, at the guest's discretion. The fee does not include any beverage that is normally ordered through the bar service such as wine, liquor, soda and bottled water. The $35 USD fee also applies to children. The Steakhouse is an alternative to eating in the Main Dining Room or the Lido Restaurant, open daily, 5:30pm-9:30pm. The dress code for the Steakhouse is Cruise Elegant (Jeans permitted on Cruise Casual evenings). I don't know how old your children are, but $35 in my opinion is really steep.
