Yorto Posted November 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I can not find any information about it, I no longer smoke the stinkies and now use electronic vapour. Does anyone know if you are allowed to take them on board ?
yatchet Posted November 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2014 (edited) Don't know about Carnival but this is the Princess rules. Electronic Cigarettes "The use of electronic cigarettes is allowed within the confines of the passenger's stateroom (balcony not included) and within designated smoking areas only." pwkmpjm Posted November 14, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Electronic cigarettes are treated the same as cigarettes on both Carnival Legend & Carnival Spirit. They can only be used in the designated smoking area on open decks 9 & 10 forward, starboard side.
Rare Kinkacruiser Posted November 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2014 The way prices are increasing for tailor-mades and smokers numbers dwindling, we might see vapers taking over this area.:D A year ago one could vape on Princess ships in most places except MDR and Princess theatre. Kiwi Kruzer Posted November 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Although I did read somewhere that smoking electronic cigs was more dangerous than ordinary cigs. It was something to do with the flavoring they put in . ...but then you never know ... its just like diets.. you think you have found a good one , then along someone who rubbishes it and proposes a new one...:rolleyes:
fishtaco Posted November 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I can not find any information about it, I no longer smoke the stinkies and now use electronic vapour. Does anyone know if you are allowed to take them on board ? same restrictions as smoking i am afraid unless on princess:rolleyes: But I have found on cruise ships it is tolerated by many cruisers and most crew. You will however come across the complainers who complain just because they can and do. You will encounter the interested the never knew along with the ill informed complainers. Vaping in non smoking areas using "Stealth" method if you really must vape is the best option. Vaping in cabin is not allowed but nobody will ever know if you do or do not and will leave as you know no evidence/smell danger to anyone who uses your cabin after you. If you insist on vaping in common public areas you will be asked to refrain as you cannot be asked to extinguish:D:D:D There is no law against vaping or even smoking on a cruise ship, there are just rules, many rules are broken by many cruisers so if you must break the rules and vape in non smoking areas just be very discreet or "stealth" Do not try to vape in the Buffet, Dining rooms, casino or theatre as this will not be tolerated by anyone including crew. If people stare at you thinking you are smoking when lounging by the pool just put a towel over your head when you need to vape;) Congratulations on taking the only guaranteed method of becoming smoke free forever:)
CruiserBruce Posted November 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2014 If you look on the Carnival board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=215 and the Carnival website, you will find lots of info.
fishtaco Posted November 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Although I did read somewhere that smoking electronic cigs was more dangerous than ordinary cigs. It was something to do with the flavoring they put in ....but then you never know ... its just like diets.. you think you have found a good one , then along someone who rubbishes it and proposes a new one...:rolleyes: E Cigs are not cigarettes and do not burn so you cannot smoke them. Reaserch has show no such evidence of vaping being more dangerous than smoking in fact quite the opposite. On a health risk scale it has been found to actually be much closer to not smoking than smoking. If you ingest or inhale any poison it is not good for you and supermarket food flavouring used by some home brewers is taking added poisoning risks and not the norm. Media hype and misinformation leads to un informed mass opinions. Very early tests by the US FDA found trace amounts of specific poisons in less than 5% of the entire test examples and the trace amounts were no more than what is allowed and is quite common in everyday items both ingested and inhaled by the general public. Short term ( over 5 year) studies have shown no major ill affects from vaping. Short term studies on smoking are quite evident in the ill affects and dangers. No long term study has been done on vaping compared to smoking because vaping or modern e cigs are only 10 years young. E cigs were invented in the 1950,s and forced into secrecy until there re invention by the Chinese in the new millenium:) Tobacco companies are buying up all the e cig companies they can for millions of dollars and once they are approved for regulated use as a safer alternative to smoking they will demand the same government tax as tobacco products do now. I believe vaping should be age regulated "now" just as drinking and smoking is but it is not? e cig batteries that can explode as reported by the media are the exact same batteries that explode in mobile phones and laptops and are not reported? Miss use of batteries can cause malfunction, fires and explosions at the same instance as all battery operated equipment but the media single out e cigs? It is illegal to "sell or resell" e cig products in some Australian states but it is not "illegal to purchase" or use any e cig product:)

dizzy1948 Posted November 15, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) E Cigs are not cigarettes and do not burn so you cannot smoke them.[/I] ..........No "second hand smoke" no smell - no wafts of smoke trailing in the air. Once puffed - that's it. ..........Vapour/smoke is coming from the persons mouth - like exhaling in a very cold environment - again no smell - no wafting Media hype and misinformation leads to un informed mass opinions. Ain't that the truth. At a Barbi someone struck a match to light it - a voice in the background said "oh God, someone's smoking" IT WAS THE SMELL OF SULPHER in the match !!! go figure. (I messed the "quote" up when I was trying to extract a couple of comments :o:p ) Edited November 15, 2014 by dizzy1948
