There is a brief update from a passenger on the 11/09 roll call.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Forums mobile app

Thank you. I just went there and read it. I wonder why he is posting a review on the roll call. Who is going to see it?

Looking forward to more.

We don't sail until January 4th - so I am sure everything will be done long before we board her - a little worried she is still sub-par though - oh well, this is a free cruise from the casino so we will be just fine - we always have fun.

Have you sailed the Pride before? What do find sub-par about her?

Meeeee too!!! I keep checking the board like every 5 minutes. This time next week we will be unpacked and on Lido deck:cool:

I can't take it either, so I'm going to drive to downtown St Pete in 2 hours and go to the rooftop Canopy Bar to watch her sail out today!

Ok all of you just off the boat, tell us please about how the new changes were! We are on the sailing leaving one week from today, and hoping everything was operating well.

Hello all,

My girlfriend and I just got off the Pride today! I can tell you everything was up and running. It was beautiful. There were a few problems, like not leaving port till 9:30pm Sunday night, a lot of the times in the Fun Times were totally wrong, and not to fond of the the cruise director. Will write more later but I can assure you all the new upgrades were up and running!

P.S. I strongly recommend Bonsai Sushi

Sorry I can not write a long review right now, getting ready to go back to work tomorrow!!! I did read the other persons review, however I did not experience what they did. We had a balcony on the Veranda deck and had no problem with smoke. I went to the serenity deck several times and never witnessed what the other person saw. Yes, there was a guy there cleaning cushions but there were no black ones at the time (Monday). They closed the free sushi down and in its place is the free Taste bar with different items nightly. Bonsai Sushi was inexpensive, was every bit worth the $18 we paid for an appetizer and 2 eight piece rolls. Guys burgers was awesome, very tasty. I do agree that the Blue Iguana was not open long enough, only open from 12-2:30, Guys was open 12pm-6 every day. Bonsai 5:30pm to 12. I did not see all the added extra charges in the fun times. The extra charges in the dining room were for larger steaks and 1 1/2 pound Maine lobsters. I do recommend the steak house, as well as the free cooking demonstration in the steak house. Food was awesome. Not all rooms do have flat screens, however the ones with the older TV have the interactive menu while the ones with the flat screens had problems. We were late leaving port not due to customs but that they had so much to load onto the ship that it took extra time. More later. Feel free to ask questions.

just got back from Pride . I had a decent vacation despite the way the ship operated during the week . I've only sailed Carnival and would rank this as the worst of the 5 cruises I took . Hopefully for those on the Pride in the near future they get their act together . On all my previous cruises from talking to people on the ships I always met people that said it was their best cruise ever .. Not a single person said that during this cruise . I probably heard at least 30 people say it was their worst cruise to date none of which was from my party but I would say this was my worst out of mine but my other trips were pretty good .

Alright, a little more. The Dive In Movie was awesome, saw Maleficent. Sound was awesome, picture was awesome, could use a couple more chairs set up. Free popcorn. Very nice seating areas around Guys and Blue Iguana as well as plenty of drink stations, no more just going to the buffet to get drinks and ice. Everything on the lido deck looked new and or cleaned up well. One complaint I do have is we were docked in Tampa and the were not even showing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game in the EA sports lounge!!! Plenty of comfortable outside seating for those who smoke. Nice wicker sofas and chairs with cushions as well as tables. Never got on the slides but they were up and running except for the last day, high winds.

PS if you get off the boat in Grand Caymen, there is a tour bus that takes you around the island for $15, carnival charges 50!!! The tour was 2 hours and we stopped several times including to see the dolphins for free, went to Hell and the Tortuga Rum Factory with free tasting. Our drivers name was Supa Fly! Ask for him. They had on blue shirts with signs that said tour was $20!

The two burning questions I have:

1.) Are the rooms still done in Carnival orange?

2.) Does David still stand guard over the steakhouse?

LOLOLOL

1) yes, the rooms are the same, no changes there.

2) Yes, David is still there in all his glory!!!

No reasons why? The other two people are stating the opposite of you and your "30" people ...You cannot come here and say WORST CRUISE EVER and not even give reason for this

I hope that someone is kind enough to do a full review with lots of pictures! We sail in February and have been anxiously waiting to see how 2.0 is treating the Pride.

I do have some pictures but have not had the time to post them. I can say each new place looks exactly like the pictures I saw before I got on board. I just read that the other person posted that this was his worst cruise ever, I am sorry to hear that. This is my 11th cruise with Carnival, and maybe I am not as crtical as other people, but either way I can not give you a complaints besides the typos in the fun times. Every where I went was clean, the staff was friendly, my room was great, best room steward ever, even gave her an extra $60 for the week. Sure there was a fire in the ladies room, under control within minutes, and they had no chips to go with rooms service, but overall I left the ship happy and relaxed. Sorry other people did not.

Sitting in a deck chair on deck 10 as I am typing this. The two main pool areas are re done with new flooring. Guys and blue iguana are up and running. We walked past the new water park and it too is running. It seems like the 2.0 upgrades are very popular and busy. Our balcony room had nothing changed. Still has the old tube tv. The sun is shining, and other than the fact that they are testing the fire alarms every hour or so, we are off to a great start. I will say that the ship could still use some touch ups in the exterior paint department. It looks like they are working on it, but there is a lot of rust showing. Perhaps that is the next project. Any way you look at it, we aren't at work and it's 50 degrees warmer here than at home.
