No reasons why? The other two people are stating the opposite of you and your "30" people ...You cannot come here and say WORST CRUISE EVER and not even give reason for this

I just posted a review . My response was a quick response . Some people were wow by the new features . I did like Blue Iguana but was slightly disappointed with Guys . The Bacon on the burgers had no flavor .

I think my Parents cruise on Princess would qualify as a worst cruise candidate someone was smoking on a balcony the ship caught fire and the cruise stopped after the first port and they were stranded in Atlanta for 2 days .

I enjoyed my trip on the Pride this time despite the problems but of my 5 trips on Carnival this was the worst of them . The ship was the dirtiest Carnival Ship I was on . Other then the new areas you could notice some wear and tear . Bathrooms that didn't have functioning dryers dust around the furniture in the lobbys and dirty balconys . Although they left a message that they intended to clean my balcony they either didn't do a good job or never did . I didn't ask for it to be cleaned it was something that they left me a note 2 days that they would try to clean it while I was at port and to lock up any valuables .

Many people complained about the cleaniness that it didn't look like a ship just being revealed to the public . Others had faults with the orginatization and operation of activities and departures at ports .

My 2nd night the wait staff was pathetic . The other nights they were fine . I don't just complain I would praise if there were an opportunity . I had a waiter on the Paradise a few years back named Godfrey I think he was originally from St. Thomas he was awesome and when Carnival sent their survey I made sure to mention him by name .

Fortunately for Carnival , I think this was a case of that a ship needing to get a few sailings under them to get into "gameshape" With that in mind I wont be a guinea pig for a fisrts sailing anymore . I had good experiences on my past sailings with them and I will chalk this up to the ship and the crew not being completely ready yet . I'm not saying this of the whole crew but perhaps some people were new to their positions .

Sorry I can not write a long review right now, getting ready to go back to work tomorrow!!! I did read the other persons review, however I did not experience what they did. We had a balcony on the Veranda deck and had no problem with smoke. I went to the serenity deck several times and never witnessed what the other person saw. Yes, there was a guy there cleaning cushions but there were no black ones at the time (Monday). They closed the free sushi down and in its place is the free Taste bar with different items nightly. Bonsai Sushi was inexpensive, was every bit worth the $18 we paid for an appetizer and 2 eight piece rolls. Guys burgers was awesome, very tasty. I do agree that the Blue Iguana was not open long enough, only open from 12-2:30, Guys was open 12pm-6 every day. Bonsai 5:30pm to 12. I did not see all the added extra charges in the fun times. The extra charges in the dining room were for larger steaks and 1 1/2 pound Maine lobsters. I do recommend the steak house, as well as the free cooking demonstration in the steak house. Food was awesome. Not all rooms do have flat screens, however the ones with the older TV have the interactive menu while the ones with the flat screens had problems. We were late leaving port not due to customs but that they had so much to load onto the ship that it took extra time. More later. Feel free to ask questions.

Is there a up charge for Guy's & what does the Blue Iguana have - is there a extra charge? Do you need reservations for the Bonsai Sushi?

No one knows about the new menu or have posted photos of it or any food porn?? We go in 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to getting Guys burger on the ship!

Did not notice any new menus? What are you referring to? Guys burgers are the best! There are five kinds as well as a toppings bar.

Did the MDR start the new format, America's Table?

The MDR used the menus they have been using for the past few years but with a few changes here and there . They changed 2 of the didjas from what I recall . I know the night that had Oysters Rockerfeller was changed to OX tongue or something like that . I didn't try that one . On another dining note the Chefs choice listed in the Funtimes was often wrong so if you aren't happy with the choice listed you may luck out .

My dad told me or read somewhere on here or the carnival site that they changed the whole menu around and made some great new changes like the steak has changed to a better cut of meat then the flat iron ( in my opinion wasn't half to bad. Good flavor)

But when we look no one has any new updated menus.

Which Guy burger did you get?

check zydecocruisers website . It has tons of info and foodporn pics including some samples from the American Table format that was used on certain cruises . It seems as though the American Table format is port specific rather then day specific . That site has tons of info on food and a lot of pics of things at various ports . Great resource for trip planning

A couple of comments. 1. As a previous poster said, the bacon on Guys burgers was amazingly flavorless, although the burgers themselves were good. 2. The Blue Iguana cantina, located on the port side, had made-to-order burritos at one place, tacos in another. You had a choice of meats and other fillings. There was a toppings bar for the tacos. Fish tacos were tasty.

3. The one and a half pound Maine lobster isn't exactly that. The first clue is that it has 4 claws. It's really two lobsters, probably totaling a pound and a half in weight, which isn't exactly a one and a half pound lobster. Based upon the size, I'd guess they weren't from Maine, but from Canada, which has smaller size limits. They are cold-water gulf of Maine lobsters.

The cruise director had an annoying habit of making unneeded announcements in the cabins, usually when I was trying to sleep.

This really agitated me on the Pride this year and I do not remember this bothering me on previous cruises. Very long and very loud announcements read like an infomercial.

Was the cruise director Kirk?

I did not see a huge difference in the menu. Same items as every time I have cruised only difference is that there was seven days of menus. One day the prime rib was offered with out it being elegant night. Other than that it seemed the same.

I tried 2 Guys burgers, the Plain Jane and the Pig Patty. They were awesome. A couple people with us had tried the Ringer and said it was awesome.

Just a note like the above person said also. We did not leave the port Sunday till 9:30pm!!!

Also I did NOT like the cruise director George. He did not keep you informed of anything going on and you would of thought he would have considering the Fun Times was usually wrong.

Disembarkation was a nightmare!!!!! No announcements, no control and were not able to leave ship until almost 9 pm.

Just got home today from the Nov 9 - 16 the cruise.

The good : The bowling alley balcony was huge.

The food was good .Service in the MD R was excellent.Steakhouse was very good.New water slides were fun. Guys burgers were very good.New pool area was nice.

The Bad: Cabin was dirty. Balcony furniture filthy. New TV did not work for 3 days. Razor blades laying out in the room.Serenety ares was dirty. Serenety pool closed the first sea day morning and closed the last sea day. Outdoor hot tubs cold the first two days.Spa whirlpool cool all week.Only showed Dive In movies the first few days.I could go on but to keep it short the ship was not ready to sail.

The Ugly : The most unorganized cruise I have ever sailed on period ! Nothing happened on time. The crew did not know when the second formal night was going to be. Elevators did not work the first day and one back one was in operational the entire week.Worst entertainment I have ever experienced on a Carnival cruise.Second production show was not held until the last night when everyone was trying to pack. The pre show was supposed to start at 7:45. The theater did not open until 8:00 PM --- kind of sums up the whole week.

No way I would ever sail the first cruise after a drydock again.

DiveMaster,

What was your cabin #? We will be in 5236 with a bowling alley balcony. The new deck plan doesn't show the long balcony anymore. Just wanted to know if it was a typo.
