ducklite Posted November 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2014 In reponse to milepig's post about the new gift, I am starting a thread about what we would like to see as the Yacht Club Welcome Gift. As much as we love the canvass bags, we don't need any more. In fact the last thing I need is yet another tote of any type. Here are some of the things that I would find useful that I would like them to consider... Small LED travel flashlight Aluminum water bottle Small umbrella that folds to a foot or less Waiters corkscrew Al items with the logo of course :)
dandee2 Posted November 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2014 WS luggage name tag holder? I'd love to see a scale model of the WS ships in the gift shop.
milepig Posted November 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2014 WS luggage name tag holder? I'd love to see a scale model of the WS ships in the gift shop. There was one on the Surf, but they were asking about $350 for it.
DanBarb Posted December 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2014 I'd vote for that LED travel flashlight so that I can see the menu.
ducklite Posted December 1, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted December 1, 2014 I'd vote for that LED travel flashlight so that I can see the menu. The only place I had a hard time reading the menu was Candles. Otherwise the lighting was fine. I don't want to eat dinner in a place lit up like a diner. DanBarb Posted December 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2014 That's funny! I was thinking specifically of Candles when I wrote that. Looking forward to my next visit to Candles....
fpardo87 Posted December 2, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Thanks for the great post and options, ducklite. My vote goes to the aluminum water bottle.
J&MSails Posted December 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Hopefully, someone at Windstar is reading these posts. My vote is for the aluminum water bottle. We will be on the Star Pride for 24 days starting December 12th. We are hoping the positive reviews are true and the negative reviews are from negative people. ducklite Posted December 4, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted December 4, 2014 Any other ideas people might have? One thing that might seem kind of weird but we used a lot on the Surf was a highlighter and sticky notes. Maybe those items and a binder clip (which we also used) with the logos on them? Would love to bring home a block of sticky notes to use and remind me of the ship until the next time.
marama Posted December 5, 2014 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) Windstar T shirts please! Always a nice - and useful souvenir to have and they don't really cost that much if bought in bulk. Unfortunately the latest offerings on the Windstar site are not nearly as nice as the ones they were selling onboard 2 years ago. I was hoping to purchase another identical one. Second choice would be a bottle chiller - either the kind you put in the freezer to use at home or just the type which keeps your bottle a bit cooler when you travel. ducklite Posted December 5, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted December 5, 2014 The problem with t-shirts is that they never have the right sizes and style.
marama Posted December 6, 2014 #12 Share Posted December 6, 2014 Well they certainly don't at the moment, if the current online pictures are anything to go by!
Mutyi Posted January 6, 2015 #13 Share Posted January 6, 2015 I wouldn't mind another tote bag if it's either the kind that folds into a small square, or one like Envirosax. With logo, of course. Sent from my iPad using Forums
ducklite Posted January 24, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted January 24, 2015 If they are going to do a tote bag, I'd prefer a lightweight foldable nylon one (but not too lightweight!) with a top zipper and preferably a front pocket.
