FLL hotel - short night

We are sailing out mid-March. Ship sails on Sat afternoon, and due to work schedules and coming from WI, we are flying out on Friday evening, but don't land in FLL until after midnight. Hotel costs are EXPENSIVE this time of year. Given that we will likely only be our hotel room from 1 am until mid morning, anyone have a good hotel recommendation?

Peak season, doesn't really matter the length of time you need it for, everything will be expensive.

I'd book the Holiday Inn Express 17th Street.

The port and the airport are so close together that some of the airport hotels are further away from the port than the airport.

The Holiday Inn is on top of the port entrance.

The Holiday Inn Express is a good choice. It offers shuttle service from FLL ( check nighttime schedule with hotel) and a free breakfast. You can sleep in and know you are a 5 min ride from your ship.;)

It's a pain in the wallet for short stays, but it's the start of your vacation.:D

Happily, I just realized I had enough Marriott points to book the Renaissance on 17th St. Thanks for the input on hotels, though.

Be sure to call the hotel directly a day or two before and confirm that you will be a very late arrival.

A "free" room, even tho they will most likely get a partial reimbursement from their corporate office, is a strong candidate for cancellation and resale to a paying customer.

Not trying to scare you, just a word of caution.
