Pay to upgrade cabin at port?

This will be our first time to cruise on Oceania. We are sailing on the Riviera mid January and I noticed there are some PH1 cabins still open. We are presently in a PH2 and I am concerned about the location as it is below the Terrace Café.

 

My question is: if we wait to see about upgrading at the port can this be done, if a cabin is available, and how much of a hassle is it? Thanks!

Would suggest you inquire about an up sell. It is not a hassle -- but the question is whether it will be available. They could play musical staterooms in the interim and upgrade or offer up sells to relieve overbooking in lower classes.

If you are willing to pay to upgrade, why wait??? Early bird gets the worm. I wouldn't count on a PH1 still being available on cruise day. Have your TA make the call.

 

Chances are, if the PH1 is still available, O is already offering upgrade deals to other booked passengers, plus there is always the guaranteed suite people. Also, read my post on what happens when a cruise is undersold.
