In fact, if it's on the same ship but booked as two cruises (which yours probably isn't), like a 7 day one way and a 7 day the other way, as opposed to a 14 day of the same ports, you'll most likely pay an extra port fee at the turn-around port.

While I have not personally paid any attention if the taxes and fees for 14-night combined itinerary are exactly two times of those on a 7-night itinerary (or two alternating itineraries combined), the total price varies - sometimes it's cheaper to book as combined itinerary and sometimes separately, regardless of how the specific components of the total are formed.

My "most likely" comment came from my own experience after breaking a 14 day TA/Med itinerary into an 11 day and a 3 day. The total cost for the two separate bookings was actually lower than my original, but the fees of the 11+3 days came out $81.xx more than the 14 day--"mostly likely" from having to pay a new port fee in Barcelona.

We don't fly .

D.W. and I got a one week one way car rental .

Drove 2 days from Boston Mass. to the Florida keys for 5 days of vacation #1 .

Day 7 we drove to Tampa for the Dawns last 7 day western Caribbean cruise leaving the car there to start vacation #2 .:)

Stayed on board for a B2B with the 12 day repo cruise ending up back @ our homeport of Boston Mass. for vacation # 3 .

Sooo I figure We saved a lot with only 1 travel expense for 3 totally different vacations . :D

But if you book it as separate cruises you can use 2 of the $250 deposits you bought for $150, saving an extra $100. In addition, you will get the Latitudes perks of two 7 day instead of one 14 day cruise, which for a platinum couple means two extra dinners for two with wine plus double on the other perks. Worth doing the math.

Actually the Latitudes perks/vouchers have arrived twice for many people regardless of how they booked. :)

Good points to mention. In my case, one cruise was only 3 days so a cruise rewards was not applicable. FWIW (probably not much), I switched to upgrade to a cabin available on the 11 day but not on the 14 day. Costwise, we came out over $200. ahead, but getting the room we wanted was the win--it simply became win-win in the end.

Booked a B2B on the Jade for May under the current Wave promotion. When I was hunting for a cruise I noticed that booking as two separate weeks was 25% cheaper than booking it as a 14 day cruise. These lower fares meant CAS was able to comp me a higher level category. That also meant that under the current wave promo we were able to get the UBP and $200 OBC for each week. I will receive my casino tier level perks and Platinum perks twice as well.

It really depends on the individual cruise and cabin selection as to what is the best way of booking. On our recent b2b we saved nearly £1000 by booking it as a 14 day, but in other categories it would have been cheaper to book separately.

You just need to do look at the prices and book what makes most sense for your circumstances.
