JohninDC Posted December 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2014 There is nothing to "sight see" near the Orlando airport. There is a Super 8 often suggested here with a few dining options nearby. My mother likes the Best Western, so it must be okay. This web site might help you narrow your search. http://www.airporthotelsorlando.com/
Rare crewsweeper Posted December 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Most cruisers head to Port Canaveral and spend the night there or in Cocoa Beach. The shuttle services you have to hire separately. No hotel shuttle service is going to cart you from Orlando to Port Canaveral. Travelynx has a good reputation and there are several others around Look for the Port Canaveral threads here.

BlueHerons Posted December 29, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2014 There is nowhere near the airport to walk to. There is a Hyatt in the airport with a cool rooftop pool and lots of restaurants in their airport. Honestly, other than downtown Orlando, I don't know of any walkable areas in Orlando. Staying on property at Universal perhaps?
NoWhiners Posted December 30, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2014 There is a Country Inn and Suites off airport but close by, and a Courtyard Marriott--both north and west of the airport (N Frontage rd). I'm not sure if they have an airport shuttle but a quick google search would tell you. There is a TGI Fridays close by (also a Millers Ale House further up the main drag out of the airport (S Semoran) but not very walkable. Maybe a short cab ride would work? use google maps to find MCO, then look around north of the airport and you'll see several choices. good luck ML
Magellan321 Posted December 30, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2014 There are about 15 hotels just outside the airport....just off Semoran Blvd. There really isn't anything to see nearby by but there are tons of places to eat. We have stayed at the Renaissance, Marriott, DoubleTree, and Holiday Inn Express....all had wonderful shuttle service.

There are several restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also offers a complimentary airport shuttle. http://www.lq.com/en/findandbook/hotel-details.orlando-airport-north.html#.VKasorA3PIU .
