gkbiiii Posted January 9, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted January 9, 2015 Don't take it personally........it's only business.................. That's what's so hard, your loyal to them and expect them to be the same with you. Royal is becoming like the airlines, where much of the Frequent Flyer benefits have been gutted. Same with the Vegas casinos: I am a Diamond/Total Rewards & Gold with Mlife, but don't really want to spend the $$$$ to fly Miami-Vegas!!! For what Royal is charging, I could just use my condo credits and spend time in Harborside at Atlantis.

dorisis Posted January 9, 2015 #28 Share Posted January 9, 2015 Princess is now my cruise line of choice. Although they also have "tricky pricicng", I can combine all my OBCs and still get better loyalty perks. RC ships have gone down in service and quality to the point of no return. Big_G Posted January 9, 2015 #29 Share Posted January 9, 2015 That's what's so hard, your loyal to them and expect them to be the same with you. That's your first mistake. Royal provides us with a product that fits our needs. Once that fit is no longer a good value for us, we'll move on. So far we've been able to find good value despite Royal's erratic pricing schemes. As such, their motivation is profit. A business values loyalty only when it benefits them and anyone that thinks otherwise is delusional. It appears that, at the present time, RCI has determined that the loyalty rewards, in totality, are a detraction from their bottom line. Every business figures out which customers cost them money and tries to nicely push that customer over to their competitor without causing ill will. People are taking every change personally. It isn't personal. The bean counters aren't going through a customer list thinking about each person on the list and how they will each react. As a smart consumer the best thing you can do is a product comparison and choose the product that gives YOU the best value, considering your relevant factors.
