Received letter last day onboard - Casino 'offer'

On the last day of my December sailing, I received a letter from the Casino. I indicates I did not read it closely at that time and missed opportunity to follow-up on it while onboard.

 

It indicates that I qualified for a cash offer based on my casino play.

 

It instructs me to call the listed number and provide the indicated code.

 

Figured I'd check with everyone here first before calling, just to make sure it's real or see if someone has received something similar. Did a search for 'cash offer' and found no other references.

 

Is it just a another sales gimmick?

Yes, I have had the same. My only problem was I couldnt cruise again in the time limit.

My parents have received this on their past couple of cruises. It is legit. They are joining us on our next cruise and are basically getting free cosino play based on their average daily spend in the past. They do this hoping that you will keep playing with your money when you have burned through their money.

Never seen them use a code, but have recieved the letter in the past.

 

If you book within 30 days, on the cruise, go to the cash cage with yiur letter, and they will give you cash.

 

I had to waste one worth $650 back in september, as I already had everything booked

 

There is no credit, or obc, its cash that they give you

We have gotten one in the past. If you don't already have a cruise booked you can get $250 cash for your next cruise. I had our applied to a cruise we already had booked so we only got $50 per person. This program replaces the old one where you got $10 credit for every 1,000 points you earned. I have seen high rollers get offers of some big money for their next cruise. We just barely got the qualifying number of points which was 4,000.

In most slot/electronic games they track your play per spin, and they have a "cash" payout bet every few thousands points collected. Slots are just money collectors, and your odds are brutal, they dont have to follow regulations as land based casinos.

 

On table games its a rough guestimate, eventhough they try to electronic track yoy. Its also by per bet and how high the bet, nit by how much you buy in with or lose. Object is to keep your bets high when the pit supervisor is watching, and chat up and slow down the dealer when tey aren't :D

Ideally you're just playing winnings. The only time I got a letter was when I had found a slot machine that was paying me a lot of jackpots so my investment was minimal plus it was a 17 day cruise with lots of sea days. I probably spent $500 of my own money. If the casino isn't financing me by letting me win, I would never make the cutoff.

Keep watching-I am used to getting these letters with amounts from $50-$240 for the next cruise. I just got off the Ocean (18 day TA) and did not get the letter-I had over 13,000 points at my last count. I have been calling and emailing Princess and Carnival Casino folks. Finally got somebody that answered me today. Not a real answer but a request for more info so they can verify my play. As soon as I get an answer I will post it. BTW, I have made friends with a couple of "Casino Hosts" and I posed the question to one of them. He was not sure but thought they may have done away with the letters on longer cruises like mine. He also suggested going to the casino cage/manager on my next cruise and that I might get "comped". He asked me not to mention his name:D

The casino host is the one that writes the letters, and comps you any way they wish. Letters do not come frrom the casino manager.

 

Then again, i think the casino hosts deal with the table players more. Slots and video poker players dont seem to get personal attention from the hosts from what I have seen.

 

On my last cruise on the cb back in november the host Beatrice sent me a letter for $650, and comped me 2 dinners at a fully booked crowne grill., and had offers of free drinks the entire cruise. I think it helps with the pit supervisors getting to know you by name, and the point you out to the host/hostesses.

 

The key is to get to know the host, introduce yourself. They can comp most things with or without high levels of play, but the cash letters require higher play.

When you board your next cruise, ask the host what the qualification is for the cash offer. It usually starts at a certain number of points for a specified number of days. In my experience it has ended the night before the last full day on the ship. In any event, the offers start at a certain amount if you reach the first threshold and then increase for every 1000 points above that. It can go up to a free cruise if you really gamble a lot. On the last full day of the cruise, you will receive a letter. And yes, it does depend upon whether or not you have another cruise already booked unfortunately. You'll typically see an amount shown if you don't have another cruise booked and need to call to find out the amount if you do have one booked. Obviously they use it as an incentive for you to book another cruise. I've collected on two such offers so far and have another one we will get on our cruise next month.

I was very disappointed when I just couldn't book a cruise within their time limit. They offered me $1000 in cash.
