Meant to say large smoking areas on deck 3 below 4123

dwhen is your cruise-- if a hot summer month or going to someplace warm iwth humidty you want to reconsider keeping the door opened.

everything will start to feel wet

But I did not think you could smoke on deck 3

On miracle, deck 3 is atrium area, shopping, theater, with a promenade walking deck outside. I don't think there's any smoking areas.

You might get some smoke from the casino on deck 2

Deck 3 promenade outdoor starboard side only is now a large smoking area. See page 14 here of the Legend's smoking areas and page 16 for Miracle (same class of ship):

The misinformation posted on this thread is disappointing. Glad I can get everyone up to speed since balcony smoking was eliminated by Carnival.

Think the comments were about smoking below 4k rooms. At least thats what i was referring to

Yes, that's what I am speaking of. I like the 4K cabins and am not concerned about the smoke wafting up from deck 3 because we always book on the port side.

We are booked in 4153 on Pride on the 2/2 of our B2B. This is NOT in between the lifeboats; those cabins were already booked. :( My question: can you at least see the sky/what the weather is like from an obstructed cabin? We were in an inside on Liberty on the 2/2 of our B2B a few weeks ago because we booked last minute and that was all that was available. HATED not knowing what the weather was like! Even had the tv on with the web cam from Lido but didn't help much.

My sister had 4122 and had a great view between the lifeboats (4123 other side)

We had to have a quad cabin and we had 4194 which had a good view between the lifeboats, not as good as 4122, one door was blocked the other not. (4195 on the other side)

Glad to hear that. We are booked in 4122 for a B2B in January 2016 that totals 21 days. We have never had a 4K room before. We have had interiors, balconies, and 4J rooms. The 4K rooms were only a little more than the interiors, with a bonus of natural light and fresh air.

We had a cabin blocked by lifeboat but could still see the sky.

I second keeping the drapes closed when you want privacy. We were in 4123 a couple of years ago and got a big surprise! There is a bit of an obstruction but being able to prop the door open, we did it with our bed as it was heaviest and closest, lets in a beautiful breeze.

I'm in 4132 and I'm not sure I'm going to like ur. We always booked balconies and this was hyped up to us. Too late to change as the price of our cruise has only kept going up :(

Try not to worry too much. Almost all our cruises we have booked balconies and in many cases suites. On the Miracle and Spirit we were in the aft wrap balcony cabins on deck 8 that have the seperate rooms. Talk about being spoiled!!! Then my job "downsized" and then we bought a summer camp, then the economy did what the economy did and we started booking OV'es on the Splendor the past 3 cruises. I missed my balcony, but was still able to see outside. We had an OV on the Liberty last month and had the chance to do a B2B but the only cabins available for the 2nd week were insides. I SWORE I would never book an inside. Well, it was either an inside for 8 days or fly home to NE NJ in January...so we booked the inside. I did NOT enjoy not being able to see outside, especially when I woke up in the mornings, but I survived and if it came down to no cruise or an inside, I would pick an inside. So an obstructed view won't be half as bad. ;)You might be pleasantly surprised. :)

Thanks for the information from those who have been in 4K rooms. My PVP said there wasn't any difference between 4122 and 4123 except that they were on the opposite sides of the ship so I just picked one. It looks like they both have pretty good views for a 4K. We went on 2 cruises in January but are now back in the bitter cold with only the first stage of our furnace working. We are waiting on parts for the second stage that kicks on when it gets really cold so we keep layers of clothes on in the house. I keep thinking that for the price of the furnance repair and the new springs to open the garage door this week, we could have booked an interior on a cruise. Oh well, guess we will just have to wait until October for our cruise to Bermuda and hope for warmer weather (and furnace repair) at home. Thank goodness we have a gas fireplace and a kerosene heater.

Yes, I googled pics of the cabins, and they have a railing with plexiglass right outside the French doors.

[emoji572]️ You know you're a cruise addict if:

You know what DOtD and OBC mean.

You enter your bedroom at night and look for the towel animal.

You are reading Cruise Critic, and your cruise isn't for months, or you don't even have one booked (yet!) [emoji572]️

I used a bolster. A lot lighter and served the same purpose ImageUploadedByForums1425712590.381855.jpg.a5fdc9c27b4ab245ec0112039df67194.jpg

We will be on that cruise also the beginning of our b2b and have a 4k

Just got off the Pride with cabin 4115, between the lifeboats, but I didn't like it at all. I would have rather had an oceanview cabin. You are not allowed to open the doors, and even if you do, the bed is in the way of the door opening more than 3 inches. Even in between the lifeboats you don't really have any view. Well, I tried it, wouldn't do it again.

Bit of history: we were on the Liberty in January and had a chance to do a B2B for an unbelieveable price, so we took it, but the only cabins available were insides. We had NEVER cruised in an inside. We actually used to cruise in the Vista suites until economics got in the way. :( Figured an inside was better than 8 days in the winter in NE NJ which it was but we would NEVER do an inside again. Flash forward to a few weeks ago. Got the same deal on the Pride. Week 2 had French doors available and figured we would try it for the price of an inside. I totally agree with you. Tho we could open our doors, it wasn't worth it. We DID like having the "regular size" cabin and you COULD see a tiny bit of ocean and sky, but I am not a fan at all. Peeked into the "between the lifeboat" cabins while the doors were open before cruise #2 and the view looked pretty good.

We had this cabin the beginning of May and had the door open non stop. We simply moved the bed down a few inches and used it to prop the door. We are planning on booking the same cabin on our next cruise!

Oops! Sorry! Did not notice you were between lifeboats. I don't think that would bother me too much. I HAVE to be able to see outside. Didn't like the totally obstructed at all, tho. We were in 4153.
