JEDIKNIGHT Posted February 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2015 As I think most would agree - the main buffet on most cruise lines can be crowded and chaotic on embarkation day. On Quantum..... If you wanted the least crowded, least chaotic option upon boarding.... Is it Sorrento's, or Jamie's Italian? I think they are both open for lunch on Embarkation right? Thanks,
hallasm Posted February 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Restaurants start to open 11:30 for lunch - Windjammer and Cafe two70, and from noon also Devinly Decadence, Jamie's Italian ($$) and Izumi($$) No Sorrento's at Quantum. I did't found Windjammet that crowded.
ChristianDecker Posted February 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) No Sorrento's at Quantum. Really? NO Sorrento's on Quantum??? You have been sailing her, but ... I have seen pics of it and look e.g. here http://www.royalcaribbean.com/quantumoftheseas/dining/restaurants/sorrentos/ Or do you mean Sorrento's is only open during special times of the day, i.e. not during early embarkation ? Not even after noon ? Edited February 12, 2015 by ChristianDecker

Rare OceanCruise Posted February 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2015 We ate at Divinely Decadence for embarkation lunch and it was calm and quiet there. We were able to sit and relax. Food wasn't bad but it was probably our least favorite meal on the ship though.
lara68 Posted February 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Our first time on the Quantum, what is the difference between the food served at Cafe270 and Devinely decadence? They are both complimentary, right???
Rare OceanCruise Posted February 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Divinely Decadent has things like stew, enchilada casserole, salads. When we went for lunch it was sit down service (breakfast is a buffet). For Cafe 270 you stand in line and order. It has hot made to order sandwiches like fresh carved roast beef, paninis, sliced fresh fruit, various desserts. There is also a "design your own chopped salad" station so you can get a chicken caesar salad etc.. We thought Cafe 270 was great. They also have "to go" boxes. Sounds like two great alternatives to the crowds in the Windjammer on embarkation day!
MADflyer Posted February 13, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2015 I guess this is always open to change but on the last set of 'cruise compass' I had in addition to WJ: Snacks from 11:30 Café Promenade SeaPlex Dog House Sorrento's Pizza A la carte snacks from 11:30 Le Patisserie Johnny Rockets Vintages with Tapas by Jamie's Italian Specialty from Noon Divinly Decadence Jamie's Italian Izumi
bayob Posted February 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2015 We ate in 270. Had the roast beef sandwich, then took a leisurely stroll through the windjammer for freshly baked cookies.
