How difficult is it to get asked to join the casino's "Blue Chip Club" on Celebrity? We are going on the Solstice this summer, and like most cruises, we spend a lot of time in the casino. We are by no means high rollers, but we do drop a lot of cash in there during the week. How strict are they about the minimum bets they say you have to make? We are VIP members in RCCL's Casino Royale.

Find the Casino Host on Day 1 when the Casino opens, and advise that you are already Casino Royale members. Additionally, you should call the Blue Chip Club phone number prior to your cruise and alert them too. Membership is based on your play and typically, for table games, it is a $50 average bet with 2 hours of play per day. Not sure about slot play requirements. The point is to make yourself known to the "powers that be".

I noticed in our last e-mail from our total rewards hostess that total rewards (harrahs) are now linked to Celebrity and Royal Caribbean for comps. I have asked her to get my wife and I setup with a blue chip card for the upcoming cruise. Hopefully she can do it so that we don't have to wait 3 days to get a drink card? For the MGM players are you able to get the card right away based on your play in Vegas?

I don't know anything about the Harrahs relationship with Celebrity...but that would be nice. I know they were only associated with NCL....but have a Diamond status friend that would be oh so happy to hear that about Celebrity.

We gamble at MGM more than at Harrahs property -- but try to maintain our status at both for the great perks.

We just cruised on Celebrity and given vouchers directly from the casino host for our drinks in the casino. They are not unlimited as they are under the blue chip program. Also, you cannot combine the statuses to get both sets of perks -- well, that was my understanding from the gamblers I spoke with while onboard.

Also, no card given ... we just let the casino host know of our plans and all was covered (ie - the specialty dinner for 2, waiving of the 5% fee, welcome amenity sent to the room ... ours was chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne). Perks were great since we would not ever gamble enough to get Blue Chip status.

I am not in the Blue Chip Club since i don't really gamble. However, I was on a cruise with many Blue Chip members and I noticed that they used the Suite-Zenith line to register for boarding and they were also able to use Michael's Club. Nice extra perk. Haven't seen this before or after so guessing that this was a special invitation Blue Chip Cruise.

My last 3 cruises I have been a blue chip member. Have only received free drinks at casino, none of the other benefits.

I did get an invite to eat at Qsine on the last day of the cruise from the casino host. Certainly not Michaels Club access though.

The host mentioned that there are now four (I think?) levels within blue chip club. This was in reference to our discussion about MGM's relationship and they have their first Noir? level MGM passenger coming on board soon and that is the highest level. I didn't ask what level I was and he didn't offer it.

Memories are a bit foggy for some reason
