Don't miss the Tandoor Fish! Especially if they bring the tray out fresh! Yum. Naan can be a tad on the heavy side.

Thanks for the menu. I've never had Indian food before so I would love to give a try. What do you like about the fish? Is it spicy (I like spicy foods)?

I love Indian food and am so excited to go on the Dream which has a Tandoor! I will probably eat it for lunch every day if it is good. :) The reviews have been great, even people who seem to be know good Indian food have really liked it.

splendor, dream, magic and breeze, so it's not on conquest.

Splendor and newer ships have it.

The Pineapple Chutney is very good over ice cream.

There was different food every day on the Splendor in November and it was all delicious. I was very impressed and ate there many times. I would plan to try something different but always ended up back at the Tandoor! :)

The Tandoor is excellent. I think it is much better than the Indian entree they serve in the MDR.:cool:

I thought it was delicious and no there is no fee. I ate it several days for lunch. My Rob even liked it and he's a meat and potatoes country boy!

agreed with both of above. yes free, and yes indian veggie option at dinner every night.

 

there's also a whole alternate menu for indian in the mdr most don't know about. must be requested in advance.

It would have been cool to sail on a ship with a tandoor!

 

I think though Carnival seems to be phasing it out though so by the time I sail one of the ships that has it it will be gone. :(

Ask the hostess about meat dishes. Used to be able to preorder the night before.

The Tandoor is AWESOME... I ate there every day for lunch on my last 2 Breeze trips... Also, they have different selections on different days. My favorite food on Carnival ships...

How do you request the specialty Indian meal in advance on the first night? I would love the Chicken Tikka Massala but it is only available for dinner the first night. Should I go straight to the MDR once aboard and put in my request? I supposed I could also just go to the MDR for lunch the next day (I didn't even know the MDR did lunch) but I could just go to the Tandoor and have more options so I'd rather try the tikka massala for dinner on night one.

Hearing so many great reviews on the Tandoor I couldn't wait to try it on the Breeze in January. I can usually eat anything and enjoy the taste, but I couldn't eat it at all. Don't even remember what I got.:(

Do you normally like Indian food or was this your first time having Indian? Maybe the spices and flavors in Indian food just aren't your cup of tea?

I've never had Indian food. Does anyone have pics of the Tandoor food or can you explain some of the dishes? What is naan?

Naan is a type of flat bread. It is amazing when done right. They use it to scoop up the food and sauces.
