T2B2 Posted February 24, 2015 #126 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Thanks so much for keeping us all updated on your status! No problem. I realize this affects so many. I really feel for those who should be out sailing now. Any more delays and their sailing is probably in serious jeopardy. Not much else to do here other than watch great NFL athletes and former OSU greats try and sing. They definitely don't need to quit their day jobs. CptSticky Posted February 24, 2015 #127 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Hi Clint and Zandra! Good question and I bet the answer is they get nothing :( Other than some passengers being generous that's what I was thinking. Pretty sure that Royal will not make it up to them. Love your avatar. T2B2 Posted February 24, 2015 #129 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Well we just heard an update that the fog that was originally expected to lift in the early hours is moving slower and the dense fog advisory from the coast guard is being extended from 1 AM till 7 AM. Sounds like we won't be in on time in the AM again after all. Sounds like ground hog day all over again. T2B2 Posted February 24, 2015 #131 Share Posted February 24, 2015 We have about 4-5 other ships near us. You can't see them obviously with zero visibility here but every minute or so you hear a different fog horn. Ours goes off every 5 minutes or so. Going to be a long night. T2B2 Posted February 24, 2015 #133 Share Posted February 24, 2015 What is it like standing in the middle of the Gulf. Is it rocky? Do they have anchors down? Our sail out to Cozumel was rough, but now we are sitting in dead calm water. Like glass outside when we though the fog was breaking and did for awhile you could see the water was very calm. I don't know if we are on anchor or not for sure but I would guess yes. We haven't moved a off the same lat / long all day. Earlier when fog was breaking and we were waiting for clearance: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

T2B2 Posted February 24, 2015 #138 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Going to be really rough on many people if we can't get off by noon tomorrow. If the NOAA advisory holds that says we probably don't move till 10 AM and then with travel in we are 2-3 PM to dock then all the clearance and unloading. T2B2 Posted February 24, 2015 #140 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Yes just moved to Tampa from Chicago this week before the cruise, unfortunately I have to travel the minute we get back for work so I do need to make a flight. sasysutler Posted February 24, 2015 #141 Share Posted February 24, 2015 T2B2.. you have been a wealth of info. We are transplanted Buckeyes (O-H!) and live not far from Tampa. Just an fyi.. local news shows it may not lift till late afternoon tomorrow. Glad the spirits are high and all is well with everyone aboard, and I pray for patience as everyone tries to disembark tomorrow. The news is talking about the Buckeyes! wyobean Posted February 24, 2015 #143 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Just read this thread. I find it interesting that people would think that the cruise line should be responsible for any extra expenses incurred. That is what trip insurance is for. It isn't like they did anything wrong. rummenroman Posted February 24, 2015 #144 Share Posted February 24, 2015 I work in Palmetto on overnights, and it's like pea soup out there right now. Hopefully they can get her into port today sometime....... T2B2 Posted February 24, 2015 #145 Share Posted February 24, 2015 Well 5 AM here and yes we haven't moved an inch. Can't see the ships light from the cabin either so this has to be the thickest fog we have been in. I haven't heard an update from the ship but expect we will hear something around 6 AM. News outlets are still saying 8 am for the fog to lift over land and 10 am for the over water fog to clear. If that holds true you will get in sometime today. T2B2 Posted February 24, 2015 #148 Share Posted February 24, 2015 The latest NOAA dense fog marine advisory is calling for this to last till 7 PM EST. I hope 10 AM is correct for all our sakes. Most rebooked flights will still be in jeopardy here if we don't start moving until 10 AM. The 4-5 hour transit to the port is going to make it tight.
