bandt Posted March 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Hello Does anyone know why Queen Elizabeth had to go to Kobe instead of Yokohama for the 18 March sailing? Thanks Brian
paulhants Posted March 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Basically the weather prevented them docking. You can read details here: http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2148253&page=

Rare MicCanberra Posted March 17, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2015 The weather is predicted to be windy and the tides high which is basically stopping the QE from getting under the Bridge (very tight apparently) to get to port. They needed to make th ecall early so to arrange the alternate plans for the 550 pax getting off and the 750 pax getting on.:D

phillipahain Posted March 24, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2015 600 +passengers had to take bullet train from Kobe to Tokyo 3hr trip luggage supposed to be transported by truck 8 or 10 or 12 hours no one knew Clear information was not forthcoming many mistakes made onboard by tour desk staff who claimed "they are the experts" Many had to change flights and arrangements Some had to struggle with their luggage and get it onto crowded bullet train where luggage space does not exist because they simply could not trust it would be delivered in time for their flight All in all it was not a well thought out or organised process and the Japanese staff shoreside had no command of English making the whole situation much more stressful
