Breakaway Boarding

Docs say boarding begins at Noon, the ship sails at 3:00 and we are supposed to be on board 2 hours before departure. Do they really board the ship in the hour between Noon and 1:00?

Well, folks start showing up at 10am. If you are planning on parking at the cruise terminal, I would recommend getting there by 11am.

 

Noon is when they start letting folks board (typically) but they've got nearly half the ship checked in and just waiting around at that point.

 

So yes -- but only because so many people show up early.

Every time we've cruised out of NYC, we've been onboard by around 12:30, just in time for lunch in the MDR.

 

This August we're planning to get to the pier between 10:30 and 11:00. We'll be driving and parking at the pier; I heard that around 11 is the best time to get there, because if you arrive earlier, there may be limited parking due to people getting off the ship.

Last cruise, we arrived at 9:45, and the parking lot was pretty empty. We got a spot close to the elevators.

Im going to try to get there at 10 the absolute latest. My only reason for this is to score Vibe passes. :D

Thanks. We will be taking a cab downtown, dropping off checked luggage and then meeting friends for breakfast. How early can we check luggage?

Vibe passes are only available onboard, and you have to be aware that some people will have priority boarding, so no matter what time in the morning you get to the pier, you won't be on the ship until 12:30 to get in line for those.
