Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We are on the 9/3 Oasis sailing. The Bar Code trick worked so I think I know what my cabin is. My question is, when can I expect my documents to reflect this? As of now, Luggage Tags are blank. Will they be filled in on assignment or will I fill them in?
  2. Any info about outlets near the bed on Oasis. I am Suite GTY so likely a Jr. Suite. Many thanks
  3. Got it. I now understand and my points do appear to be correct. Many thanks all for such a great response. D
  4. I understand that but my 9/2008 cruise which was 9 nights in a GS is still showing 2 points. There doesn't appear to have been a conversion.
  5. Not sure I understand. Should they be re-calculating based on the new formula?
  6. I sent an e-mail to C&A. Before I found the old paperwork that said I was in a GS. At 1 for 1 points I'd be one shy of Diamond.
  7. We have only cruised on RCL a few times so Crown and Anchor points were not on my radar. We recently finished a cruise and I noticed that we are very close to Diamond so I looked back. Our first RCL cruise was in 2008. It was a 9 night Canadian cruise and we were in a GS. I assume that means we should have received 18 C&A points, which would move us to Diamond, however the website says we only got 2 points for that cruise. Is there a way to fix this? Many thanks.
  8. I recently had connected rooms next to mine filled with smokers. I told them not to smoke once and called GS 4 or 5 times. I smelled in on the balcony and our hall smelled like an ashtray. I was told that if actual evidence of smoking (butts etc.) is not found, there is not much that can be done other than a cleaning fine. I believe they were fined. At the end of the cruise I went to guest services and this was confirmed. GS was really apologetic and gave us a future cruise credit in the amount of 20% of the cost of our cruise. It came to about $1,400 for the 2 of us. Not perfect but something. Moral: If they smoke, report and report and report.
  9. On the app menu it says Opus One. Once on board I will research more deeply.
  10. Thanks. It looks like there are more than a few that will be in my wheelhouse. That's one of them.
  11. For reference, a single bottle of the 2019, current, vintage from the vineyard is $390. I am having trouble understanding how they sell it for so much less on board. I'm not trying to be difficult. Just trying to understand. Has anyone actually bought a bottle on board?
  12. That's true, but the least expensive you will find retail is in the $300 -$400 range which will usually be the current vintage. $300 in a restaurant is unheard of as far as I can tell.
  13. So here's the question for wine drinkers. If you were to go into a fine dining restaurant in NYC, or just about anywhere else, and you had the means and wanted to have a bottle of Opus One with your dinner, you would be out between $1,000 and $1,300 for just the wine. Not something I would ever do. RCL is selling Opus One for $378 which is about it's retail cost. If you have a dining package, take 20% off and it is about $300. Still more than I have ever spent on a bottle of wine but I would think about it if it's a real deal. What's wrong here?
