Fantasy or Fascination?

All things are equal...Same length and itinerary.

Fantasy departs Charleston and Fascination Jacksonville, Fl. Fascination is $50/pp less, but it will cost us more to travel to Jacksonville.

Which ship would you choose and why?

If you're driving, it's less than a tank of gas difference, and a few more hours of driving. I'm comparing prices on the 2 myself for a possible Sept or Oct cruise. But to be honest, I felt much more comfortable on Fantasy. We've done both cruises driving from NJ, 14 hours to Jacksonville, 10.5-11 to Charleston.

We did the Nassau/Freeport Itinerary from Charleston and Halfmoon Cay/Nassau from Jacksonville.

I thought the Food and everything about the ships were equal. But I felt the Fantasy was more of a welcoming atmosphere, maybe part of the Charleston charm? I don't know, but there was definitely something I was feeling.

We are also considering the Pride out of Baltimore, but even with the $400 extra for travel/hotel to Charleston or Jacksonville, they both are way cheaper.

I don't know what you cruise for. I enjoy the casino and always find the casino staff on the Fascination more accommodating. With this being said I'm sailing on the fantasy April 12th as I'm only 3 hours drive from that port. Both ships are great!

If your going before december 2015 definitely the Fascination because she is in dry dock in march, perhaps right now....and the Fantasy goes in dry dock in december 2015. I have two rules, never go on a ship that will be in dry dock within 9 months time from when I want to cruise and never take the cruise right after the dry dock.

I have the same rule! Really bad experience on a ship going into dry dock the next week. Anyhoo...I'm trying to decide between the two myself for an Oct sailing during our kids' Fall Break.

I would like to know the waterslide situation on these two ships.

What will the Fascination be getting in dry dock? Anyone know?

Fascination, Jax port is easier for embark & debark and you can find cheaper parking away from port. Fascination is usually cheaper(I think Charleston charger more for port fee). Also, if you want to go to Half Moon Cay, Fascination is your only choice on a 5 day cruise, I avoid Freeport...

Thanks everyone for the input. It sounds like we wouldn't go wrong with either one. The price of the Fascination cruise just dropped.....we'll see :D

Fantasy went up more than a tank of gas for the cruise I'm looking at.
