majarosh Posted March 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Our cabin is directly above the MIAMI UNDERWATER MAINTENANCE CO. Divers in wet suits have been in the water on the PORT SIDE since we boarded at NOON. Sherri F'S Department escorted 2 individuals OFF the ship. Shops NOT OPEN on the promenade Bars are...staff is trying to be attending. Folks are getting frustrated. Minimal announcements....had one at 430 directly after muster said 8 PM..8 PM came and went. Now 10...still nothing...oh well
Spurschick Posted March 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Sorry you are not having a great start. I have noticed other threads stating departure around 10pm. Unfortunately the shops can't open until the ship has set sail. Normally around 30 mins after sailing.

Bamagirl_gina Posted March 20, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2015 This link might shed some light. Apparently, the late departure was planned. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2183661

Cruzin-K Posted March 20, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) Same OP. There are multiple threads on this under various titles:rolleyes: going to hard to keep up. Would be so much easier if just one thread;) Well, the other thread is now closed, so... Maybe Bob (Clarea) will have a chance to chime in on what's going on. He's always a calm voice of reason around here. I'm sorry the ship is having problems. Still, there's no point in getting all worked up over something that you have zero control over. My co-worker's wife was delayed for hours getting out of Galveston today due to fog. Stuff happens. I'm sure Royal Caribbean is doing the best they can to fix whatever the problem is. They (and every other cruise line out there) are not exactly known for being great communicators so just try to relax. MADflyer Posted March 20, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) They are requesting information from the port master for departure, so should be soon now. It would appear. Just stated, 'will be ready in 5 minutes' Edited March 20, 2015 by MADflyer
crisndeefromde Posted March 20, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 20, 2015 thanks for posting. we haven't heard from our daughter in law since 930. I am sure its crazy but we are watching the webcam for their departure.
c-legs Posted March 20, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 20, 2015 This link might shed some light. Apparently, the late departure was planned. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2183661 Planned : yes.....but for 10.00pm !!! now 11;20pm and still no sign of departure...and seemingly no factual communication.... A ''planned 3;00am arrival and a departure of 10;00pm is generally worked into the schedule when underwater divers need a 15-17 hours window to perform whatever it is that needs to be done.....obviously, in this case, it's taking a weebit longer than ''planned''... kinesiologynerd Posted March 20, 2015 #12 Share Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) If they really haven't made it clear that the 10PM departure has been in the works for a while that's kind of crappy. Last week Captain Henrik Loy on Indy gave us frequent and very informative updates when we were delayed waiting for a medical evac helicopter for a passenger. With that said, sounds like some people need to chill  Edited March 20, 2015 by kinesiologynerd

MADflyer Posted March 20, 2015 #14 Share Posted March 20, 2015 It might be of interest that they just announced to the ship that there will be some 'pyrotechnics' for a movie scene being filmed in about 15 minutes and wanted the ship to not be concerned about this event. They should be sailing soon.

wilsonz6 Posted March 20, 2015 #17 Share Posted March 20, 2015 I wish I was delayed a bit on a ship rather than being in cold weather. Just can't make people happy... Travel without "hiccups" is just boring. I find it laughable that people would want off the ship or to be compensated for leaving a bit late. Enjoy your trip!! This sounds like life in general for a number of people out there, and not just cruising. I too would love to be "stuck" on a cruise ship versus sitting at work at the moment. Oh well, I guess I will sit here and dream!
