early saver or casino rate?

I am looking at the Liberty for the third week in November.If I book casino rate the price comes to just under 1500.That is for an act balcony.If I book early saver the rate comes to just about 1700.with casino rate I can change or cancel with no penalty up until final payment.with early saver there is the non nonrefundable deposit. I do not want to cancel once I have it booked this is more about which rate do you think would be the best way to go.Thanks for your thoughts.

Depends on what your casino rate is if it is a premier offer you lose all the perks with early saver. If it is just a discounted fare then it will be hit or miss on reductions.

In that same exact situation, I booked early saver and then price matched to the casino rate that I qualified for. Your PVP can help you do that.

If you do not plan on cancelling why not book Early Saver then immediately price match to the casino rate. Then you will be able to price match in the future.

 

I have often booked ES then turned around and price matched to Military when it was cheaper.

 

That's what I did last year on one of my B2B cruises. I had already price dropped to another rate (senior?) and then Casino Rate appeared a month or 2 before we saled.

I wish I knew all this before I booked with only casino rate. I had casino rate and had no idea I could go ES with that. I'm after final payment, if my rate goes down with casino rate or cheaper than my rate can I get it cheaper?

No, you can only price match after final payment if you booked Early Saver, which you did not.

Im looking at doing this. So if i book early saver today, do i wait a day and do the price match to casino rate? Do i do it online or do i have a rep do it? Also, my casino rate comes with 100 obc. Will i get that obc ? If a pack and play should come up... can i price match that on early saver, if i already price matched to a different casino rate? I know... lots of questions.. but haven't done it this way before.. and have to make up my mind within about 3 days.. thanks for any info:D:D

They (Carnival) denied an ES request from me a couple of years ago when I used the "pack and go" price for the fare drop. Did I get improperly denied? They said the "pack and go" fare didn't qualify for the ES fare drop.

Pack and go requires them to chose the cabin. You can match any other categories except ones where they choose the cabin.

ES can match casino rate and give you OBC. I got $25 Casino cash. However if you get a price drop away from the casino rate, the new rate has to give you the same perks or you lose them. I might find something lower than my casino rate but I'd lose $25.

When I booked early saver and then price matched to a lower casino rate, I did it right away. There's no need to wait. My PVP took care of both bookings on the same phone call.

I recently sailed on the casino rate, but then upgraded to a better cabin and then took an upgrade fairy deal. I told them all along I wouldn't upgrade unless I kept the original casino rate. My pvp emailed the casino to make sure I kept our casino perks. It was nice to have our seed money!

Can you still book ES, then get the casino rate under the current 50% off deposit sale?

Or would I have to pay the total deposit?

Most likely you would have to pay the full deposit when you do the switch to the casino rate.

I booked on Monday with the current 50% reduced deposit and $50 OBC/per room "deal".....of course today we got a Casino Rate which I have now price matched to. Did I loose the $50 OBC from the original booking then? We saved $200 matching to the casino rate and we get casino cash so it's not a huge deal, I'm just curious.

 

Also, since DH and I both qualified for the Casino deal, will we both have Casino Cash or just one of us? Should I print out the deal showing it's good for each VIFP# and bring it on the cruise with us?

Blondieschick, yes I believe you will lose the original $50 obc but the part that I would be investigating is whether or not you now need to pay the full deposit not just the 50% deposit that you booked under. Normally that is the case when ES matches to a different fare whether it's a casino rate or not. If the new fare you match too requires a full regular deposit and you don't pay the difference they can cancel your cruise. Also I would think you'd both get the casino cash since you indicated you both got the offer. If you got the notice via snail or e-mail bring that with you so you can show that to the Casino cashier if you need to.
