What is different about the Pacific Princess?

We have been on a fair number of Princess ships, but never The Pacific Princess.

Other than being smaller, what else is difference about this ship? Does it have a decent dance floor? Are there any services or activities that are eliminated due to size? What differences will we like?

Punkie,

Look at the floorplan. The theatre is tiny (enough seating for amount of passengers but don't think the stage area for dancing). There is a lounge that has dancing up on one of the high decks,

and that is about it. The lounge with a tiny stage on deck 5, really too small.

We loved the intimate atmosphere of the small ship.

We are on the 50th Anniv cruise in Dec. and look forward to it.

It's a fairly large dance floor. I have seen dancing there, but the venue is also used for other entertainment purposes.

When were sailed on the Pacific Princess, the staff were by far the friendly Princess staff I have ever experienced. The entertainment staff also double as cruise director staff. It is a much more personal experience. There are no long waits to get off if it is a tender port. For me it was a much more relaxed atmosphere.

We were on her in February of this year. We love smaller ships as they are much more intimate and with a 16 day cruise we got to know the staff and officers very well. Very friendly ship and was wonderful to be able to get to know the passengers as well.

We loved the traditional décor and the library was amazing! We will be on the Ocean this September for a Baltic cruise and can't wait. The Ocean has been sold to Oceania and the Princess is up for sale. Once these two ships are gone from the Princess fleet we will no longer sail Princess as we dislike the larger ships, too much hassle with lines and crowds.

As with all the 'R' class ships, there is lots of engine vibration in the aft Owner's Suites, and presumably in other classes of aft staterooms.

We found out the hard way that, if you are in an aft location, you don't leave bottles / glasses on the table when the ship is having to make 20 knots overnight.

They will end up on the floor.
