That is what touches my heart the most about you guys...you all have a way of doing your own thing time and comming back together,,,your story is always what is so great about Carnival, cruising as a family and those close ups of the three of you at different times say it all. We have a lot of pictures from Mom's will not say no everyone going to Hawaii for her 50th trip.

I can visualize how much trouble you guys have for picking the ones for the wall...like I can for several families and friends here that just melt me..

You guys knocked the ball park out on these...I think the whole thing inspired me on a redo of that time...for my wall..you can do so many neat displays...

Dad and I had a neat time knocking out the yard together...thought of you all....and Wrigley...can't move much today...LOL..Sarah

Awwww thank you Sarah. My dad is doing well with the dialysis. Hopefully we continue on this path :)

After seeing your pics of Ryan at Senor Frogs in the Beer Chugging contest I am pretty sure he would be a natural at "the lean" ;) :p

You're probably right! :D

Thanks for the fantastic review! We cruise on the Pride July 26 for our honeymoon. I have rented a cabana at HMC and was wondering your opinion as to which one is the best? Thanks!

Thanks for reading, and welcome to Cruise Critics!! There's no such thing as a "bad" cabana. Here is what differentiates some from the others. The further down the beach you go, the less crowded and noisy it gets. If you want to be where the action is, close to the music, etc, choose cabanas 1 through 7. If it's peace and quiet you want, choose cabanas 8 through 15, with cabana 15 being the quietest. Hope that helps.

Bizarre question - can you feed the chickens that live on HMC? Does anyone care? Are they fairly friendly?

I guess you could, though they probably live off the scraps that people drop. They are used to people of course, but they still are skittish.

Thanks for a great review! We sailed on Carnival Pride at Christmas before she returned to Baltimore. Sure did hate to see her leave Tampa! Great Ship and crew! And yes, Ken is the best! Love all the pictures, too. :D

Thanks for reading!

Back from my cruise :D and able to finish your review, love how you and Mitsugirly compose & do your reviews!

I had grand plans of doing a review of my Liberty cruise, but, although I felt like I was constantly taking pictures ... I don't have nearly enough in hindsight and some of the days just kind of merge due to the intensive ports of call! Maybe next time, I'll actually have enough variety & take some notes!

Great Review as always. I feel like I was right there with you and your family.

I do have one question.....how do the slot tournaments work? I don't really gamble and have never entered one of these. Patty always seems to do well either with slots or BINGO.

Ryan also seems to have inherited the lucky gambler gene.

Me, if mine was the only name in the hat, they would pull out the hat size tag as the winner! :p

Thanks for following along!

The slot tournament is pretty simple. The qualifying rounds last for a couple of hours and the goal is to have one of the ten best totals during the qualifying rounds in order to make the final round. You are given 5 minutes, and whatever points you accumulate in those 5 minutes is your score. You can enter multiple times if you wish.

The final round is played the same way. The top qualifier picks their machine first, second qualifier picks theirs second, and so on. Everybody starts at the same time, and after 5 minutes, highest point total wins. There is no skill involved.

Jeff,

Thanks for the amazing review! Pride will always hold a special place in my heart, as she was my first ship. It was so nostalgic to read your review of her! She looks AMAZING after the refit! I always say that I'd rather fly to experience nicer places, but I have not done this route on her yet. I should probably take advantage of her sooner or later! But thanks again for the amazing review, I had a great read. Next up, Splendor for the both of us! :D

Thanks so much for reading and following along!! You really need to get back on the Pride again. She was great before and is even better now. Enjoy your cruise on the Splendor. Warm her up for us!! :D

I know you like Red Frogs as much as me but what is your favorite mixed drink while on the ship (and don't answer whatever is in front of me :)

While in the casino or at a show, I like Bacardi & Coke or an Absolute & cranberry. I order them as doubles, in a tall glass. Favorite frozen drink is the mudslide. I'm also liking an Angry Orchard or Strongbow, with a shot of Fireball.

Thanks, we call Fireball the mind eraser in my neck of the woods. I noticed it has gotten so popular the big boy such as Jim Beam are jumping on the band wagon.

Thank you so much for your review! Your pictures and commentary taught me so much about the Pride. We sail in 38 days and I absolutely cannot wait!

I was wondering if you could tell me what Chopsticks is. I see it's in the lido buffet area, but I wasn't sure if it was just a Mongolian Grill (like they had on the Breeze and Dream) or if it had other offerings as well, like Asian-inspired appetizers or soups. Thank you in advance! :D
