No charge for the cheese/olives/nut plate and it is delicious!

I specifically booked my upcoming cruise on the Conquest because it has an Alchemy Bar.

 a cheese olive and nut plate???? included in with drink???? now that changes things for me...I will definitely be checking out Alchemy bar from now on:)

The Alchemy Bar was our favorite place on the Sunshine in 2014. The mixologist made a raspberry/chocolate martini for me which I enjoyed during the ENTIRE cruise. He even posted the drink recipe on his FB page so I could enjoy the martini at home. We just booked our 2016 cruise on the Valor which doesn't have Alchemy, but just found out that just before our departure date the Valor will be getting 2.0 upgrades!!! :D:D

Yup. That's why I mentioned the snacks in my previous post. So good to go with the type of drinks they served!

In the same vein as "they don't serve beer at the Alchemy bar", they also do not serve mixed drinks that have soda as an ingredient (e.g. Rum & Coke, Gin & Tonic, etc.). At least this was true on the Freedom and Liberty in 2014, but their ability to make a fantastic "real" Martini (with Gin) made up for any perceived shortcomings.

I'm not a huge drinker, but I loved the Alchemy Bar on Carnival Pride. It opened at 2 pm on sea days and 4 pm on port days. It could have been opened 24/7 IMO! They can make anything you want and if you don't like it, they will fix it until you do. About the nut, cheese and olive plate, if you are allergic to something just tell them and they will adjust it accordingly. Like someone else said, the drinks are VERY strong. One evening I had two drinks. The bartender who made the second drink (a mint chocolate drink) said that one is ALL liquor. That after having another drink that had about 3 good ounces of alcohol, let's just say out of all the cruises I have been on, after having those drinks, I locked my card in my cabin for the first time! LOL

The Alchemy Bar only uses premium liquors. I am a martini drinker, dirty. I was at the casino bar and had one there. It was not great. An hour or so later, we stopped at Alchemy and I ordered a dirty martini. What a difference! It was worth the extra dollar or so. After that, we made a point to stopping by the Alchemy every evening. They also serve cheese and exotic olives.

Conquest, Freedom, Glory, Liberty, Miracle, Pride, Sunshine, Triumph, Victory, and Vista will.

Try the martini tasting:

:( y'all got my interest peaked....then crashed it right down. We're going on the Dream in January... I would be thrilled to try drinks at a bar like this.

Everything everyone says is true! The mixologist on the Conquest was so sweet, she missed me the one night I didn't stop for a pre-dinner martini! LOL She made me a Moscow Mule (which may have been called something else, but that was the gist of it) and said "I really don't think you'll like it!" I said "It's okay, I really want to try one!" So she made it...and watched my face on the first sip and said "I KNEW you wouldn't like it! Let me make you something else!" I said "No, I thought it would be a little sweeter though!" So she took it away and added something to make it sweeter...watched my face again and whisked it away and replaced it with a "40 is the new 20", which had been my favorite drink all week! I usually had that plus something new each night! :p

And the snacks are yummy, and I met a very nice couple (because we both waited there for the dining room to open) and it was just so NICE!!

How does one sign up for this?

HI! Inquire about it on the first day at the Alchemy Bar. They don't advertise it and it fills up super fast.

Here's the thing. I couldn't even SIT at the bar next to you if you had almonds. So if the next passenger over was eating, them, I would begin having a reaction. Which is why I asked! :)

For us it wasn't about the drinks although I did enjoy them.

Alchemy Bar was the the TV show Cheers, we would go every night at the same time and it was always the same bartenders as well as passangers. It seemed like passangers had their own time slots to be there , you made fast friends and it became like our own little click.mWe we would stay there about an 1 1/2 and then go along our way, then the next group moved in.

Our server knew all of our names and truly made everyone feel special and like they've known you for years, they we're always eager to make an off the menu drink for you to try and I will say it was hands down a highlight of our Liberty cruise. I found Liberty to have a totally diffrent vibe than other ships as far as the passangers and crew go or at least our sailing, The people we meet all said the same thing .

Enjoy your cruise.

What an excellent observation. You hit it on the nose.

But let me add that we did enjoy their martini concoctions very much, especially just before the late seating for dinner.

I can't wait to try the Alchemy Bar!! :D I've been on ships that have it but for some reason, never tried it. I'm sailing on the Vista next October and I'm going to try it then and when I sail on the Sunshine next December, my BF and my cabin is just down the hall from it so we'll definatly be trying it then. One question, does any one have a picture/copy of the menu (from any ship it's on)? I'm interested to see what drinks they have. Great to know it'll work with the Cheers program!! :D
