disembarkation from Celebrity in Singapore

Our January Celebrity cruise ends in Singapore after staying in this port overnight. Celebrity has told us that disembarkation will commence approx. 6-6.30am but they suggest not to book flights until midday at earliest in case of hold ups. We can either get a flight home to Melb at 10.45 am (and hope for the best) or we need to leave our luggage at the terminal and spend all day in Singapore until a 9pm flight home. We will have already spent 4 nights in Singapore prior to the cruise so will probably have done all our sightseeing already. Wondering if Celebrity usually has a streamlined disembarkation process in order for us to make the early flight or would it be more sensible to book the night flight (and save us the stress)? We are travelling with a 16 yr old and an 11 yr old so at least they could make use of the entertainment on the day flight as well as get their lunch and dinner served.Travel agent is holding both flights at present so we need to decide by Sat. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

There is far more issues than "Celebrity streamlining disembarkation processes". There is Immigration and Customs clearing the ship, and then the passengers. There is travel time to the airport. There will be reasonable time to arrive at the airport.

The fact you are in the port overnight means all the "clearing issues" should be resolved. You should be able to catch an early cab, and take the 10:45 flight.

Unless, of course, there is an accident on the Expressway. There are not a lot of alternative routes to Changi Airport.

The stress would not be worth it to me. I would re-visit any place I liked during the first four days. (Make sure you go to the Night Safari at the zoo -- one of the best in the world!)
