bcparker Posted April 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2015 Our cruise ship will be in Victoria on May 30th from 7p.m. until midnight. We would love to go to Butchart Gardens, but their website says they close at 5:00 that day. The cruise ship offers an excursion to the gardens that doesn't even leave the ship until 7:15 so I am really confused. Is it possible that it is only open to people on the cruise ship excursion? Thanks for your help!
biojeep Posted April 30, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2015 We did that excursion in May of 2012 & absolutely loved the gardens. It was one of the highlights of our Alaska cruise. You will have enough daylight to enjoy the gardens.
Budget Queen Posted April 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2015 If Butchart isn't open, then Carnival isn't going to sell you a tour for it. They do have alternative hours that cater to cruise ship schedules. You can call them direct and inquire as well.
cruiseryyc Posted April 30, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2015 Yes they do open (or remain open) specifically for cruise ship excursions.
bcparker Posted April 30, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted April 30, 2015 Thank you for the replies! I just received an email from them saying that if the ships are in, then they stay open late, but if something happens to the schedule, they close at their normal time. Dizzneefan Posted April 30, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 30, 2015 We are there on June 15th with the same time frame. If we were to go on that tour, realistically how nice is is at night as opposed to taking a walking tour around Victoria?

You're only a week away from the longest day of the year so you will have plenty of daylight. It will be dusk around 10pm. http://www.sunrisesunset.com/calendar.asp
