hippyman Posted May 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2015 Hi, I just joined, and thought I'd post an intro. I'm not exactly new to cruising, however the only cruise I went on was back in 2005 to Alaska. That was probably the best trip of my life. Anyway, I've been looking at small ship/river cruises for awhile now. I would really prefer not to fly, and time is not very much of an issue, so I was wondering how many of these types of cruises depart from US ports. I'm looking for something on the adventurous side, by the way. I just need somewhere to get started. Any help would be greatly appreciated. paul929207 Posted May 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2015 Welcome to Cruise Critic. There is a separate section of Cruise Critic for river cruising. You may get better info there. There are some river cruises that sail the Mississippi system. I believe there are also some in the Washington/Oregon area. There are also some small ships doing the east coast. Krazy Kruizers Posted May 5, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2015 Welcome to Cruise Critic. You really need to see a travel agent in your area and pick up some brochures.
hippyman Posted May 6, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted May 6, 2015 I've got a brochure on the American Queen Steamboat Co. I'm thinking about maybe doing that late this summer. Does anyone know anything about them?
paul929207 Posted May 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2015 Again, you will do better if you try the River cruise section of Cruise Critic. You may also want to try google looking for companies.
Rare Roz Posted May 6, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2015 You may also want to look at Blount, and American Cruise Lines. Roz
