Newbie/River Cruises

Hi, I just joined, and thought I'd post an intro. I'm not exactly new to cruising, however the only cruise I went on was back in 2005 to Alaska. That was probably the best trip of my life. Anyway, I've been looking at small ship/river cruises for awhile now. I would really prefer not to fly, and time is not very much of an issue, so I was wondering how many of these types of cruises depart from US ports. I'm looking for something on the adventurous side, by the way. I just need somewhere to get started. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

There is a separate section of Cruise Critic for river cruising. You may get better info there.

There are some river cruises that sail the Mississippi system. I believe there are also some in the Washington/Oregon area. There are also some small ships doing the east coast.
