Enjoy your time with the blue footed boobies, sharks and seals, etc. DH swam with hammerhead sharks when we were there. Amazing.

 

In Quito, there are ladies selling woven scarves---buy lots at $2.50 each, they make great gifts.:)

We're in Quito now. Had a great day sightseeing (photos with one foot in each hemisphere as de rigeur ;)) and heading for dinner now. DW got a beautiful scarf for only $2 (without haggling) [made of genuine fabric in some country].

We so enjoyed that trip. I call it camp for adults. There was an open bar when we took the cruise...ask if they could make an ice cream drink that our sailing club enjoys....no problem and added it to their menu!!! the Pisco Sours were great. The captain flew our club burgee on the ship!!! The wonderful naturalists made the whole experience come alive ( one young man even came and visited us ( there were 10 of us on the trip) the next summer. Swimming with sea lions is not for the faint of heart!!!

Finishing out first day on Xpedition. DW called me away from the computer to go out on deck, and WHAM the milky way is just amazing out here! I can really understand how the ancient Greeks saw all those pictures in the skies.
